The Resident (2011)
The first movie review I read about this movie sucked so I was almost sure that I would hate it.
You should never trust negative movie reviews.
First of all, when you meet the landlord you are certain he is not the stalker, he's too nice, the old man (the landlords grandfather) is weird, says weird things and gives a creepy feeling, so your certain he's the stalker. They show you, however, that the landlord is the stalker, its no secret. They want to show you he's the stalker so your that much more creeped out by what he does.
Instantly when you see his stalking you feel as violated as Hilary Swank's character is. This movie creeps you out from start to finish.
There is nothing I didn't like about this movie. I think you all will enjoy it, it is definitely a thriller.
Will make a BELIEBER out of you!!!
Going into this movie all I could think of was "My daughter wants to see this. I like Justin Bieber but my daughter has shown me all of his youtube videos so I don't know if I can sit through this whole movie..." This movie is NOT just about concert footage as I read it was before going to the theatre. If you read that also, you may be apprehensive as well..and don't be fooled by that because: THIS MOVIE IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Director John M. Chu does an amazing job capturing not only Justin's talent but in capturing the heart and message that is clearly here in this movie and missing from other documentary concert footage movies. It starts by taking you back to where you saw him in the first place (youtube) and you once again remember why you've come to the theatre to see him... Several times during the movie you will hear screams and cheers from girls and wonder if you are at the movies or a concert. The audience definitely has Bieber Fever. Then you will find that you may have it too when you suddenly start cheering too! This is not just about him performing songs either, this shows exactly how he started and takes you on a personal journey with him and his family as they all do their best to help make Justin into the man he is meant to become. A great moment in the movie is when Justin's father Jeremy has this "look" on his face and you can make the assumption, which I think may be correct, that "yes this is my son but I've seen him sing before" kind of "look" before Justin's concert and it was quite beautiful seeing his father crying as he witnesses his son perform and is completely in awe. The movie also takes you through the heartbreak of seeing Justin want to perform, and cannot because of an infection he gets in his throat and the complete "human-ness" of Justin Bieber in getting sick and resting and everyone worried because he's a 16 year old and doesn't want to rest. If this movie says anything it is that it will leave you wanting to start right now because its never too late in making your dreams come true. All the people you've associated Justin with (minus The Beadles) are in this movie and many others that you will be "meeting" for the first time, all are part of Justin's team and support system. They never lost faith in him or doubted him and more important, Never Say Never tells us that we should never lose faith in ourselves and our own ability to dream and become whatever we have always wanted to do and be. Where would be all be if we didn't have all the doubt or negativity that some of us have in our lives? If we had someone telling us "we can" instead of telling us were not good enough? Justin Bieber is definitely a role model for all ages. He also shows us here that he is a teen, that he is in fact human that he has a heart and soul and that we are all good enough and in receiving we must also remember to give back. What a wonderful message and fantastic experience you will have seeing this. Start beliebing today!!!!
Teen Wolf Too (1987)
star name correction
In the summary, the author has the main character, Todd, being played by Justin Bateman. This isn't correct. His name is in fact, Jason Bateman. Though he does have a sister, also an actress, by the name of Justine Bateman. hope that clears it up. She is in the film Satisfaction, sometimes called The Girls of Summer, and the shows Family Ties and Men Behaving Badly. Jason is also in Juno, Extract, Arrested Development, Silver Spoons, etc. Maybe one day, Justine will appear in a film called Tween Wolf , but until that time, she had no part in this film. Though not being a tween, perhaps ahe can play the gruff guidance counselor, or understanding principal of the school.
cheesy but still entertaining
This movie wasn't wonderful, but it wasn't THAT bad either. I noticed some goofs aka film flubs (after the guy with the bat hits the headlights on the car out with the bat, the car is then shown going down the road with headlights in tact) but tons of movies contain those. There were a lot of things in the movie which made little sense and some points had no consistency or follow thru (and the part about what her father was making her do..such a strong powerful point..no follow thru!!!... now before, I have left the theater..I have fast forwarded or turned off movies for being really stupid..but this movie was entertaining to me,...entertaining enough to where I didn't feel I had to or wanted to turn it off. BTW, Wilson Cruz is superb in anything that he is in...I think he is one of the most underrated and best actors around. I still recommend this movie if your bored and want to watch something that is entertaining...
