Don't expect anything better than the first.
I will say that this isn't as good as the first one but I believe this is a pretty good film. It has some sick scenes and some nudity and some boring bug killing. The film is different from the first one.
BAD STUFF: The first part where they say, 'would you like to know more?' is pretty crap since they didn't make it look like you where watching it on the PC. And where they kill the bugs at the next part is really shoddy since the background just looks like smoke and lighting effects!
GOOD STUFF: Well, the violence is quite nice, you get to see skull opening, head chopping, bug smashing and there is a different story to it. I don't think the film was released in cinema and I really don't care!
I'd say overall, the film is cool, pretty cheesy and not a film to watch over and over but I'd say, it's worth buying. Maybe rent?
Why This Film Is Utter Brilliance And Not Trash.
I went to see this in the cinema last night and I loved every second of it - maybe because I'm a huge fan of Sacha Baron Cohen's work, or maybe I'm a fan of shock humour, I don't know really - but I don't understand why people are criticising this film, to be honest. If you enjoyed Borat, then you'll love this; if you didn't, you'll may find this to be an improvement.
What Sacha playfully succeeds with this film is playing with two major themes: showing the modern-day prejudices and idiocy of the supposedly evolved race that is man, and a rather insightful look into the world of those who are desperate for fame and are willing to do anything for it. He also manages to make us laugh at ourselves through such shocking humour. I couldn't believe what I was watching in some scenes.
SPOILERS: You also have to give it to Sacha for having the balls to do what he's done for this film: shocked a studio audience with his controversial baby photos; offended a terrorist leader; wiggled his penis in front of the producers; make out in an Alabama cage match with another man; etc, etc - It really doesn't stop there, either! END OF SPOILERS.
On so many levels, this film is rather brilliant. He's also managed to encapsulate so many common film clichés in a nutshell, too. In my opinion: this film was worth the six quid for a ticket - a laugh a second. You can disagree with me, but as long as you are willing to specify why you didn't enjoy the film as much as me - don't slag it off until you've given it a watch, though.
