You're no one to me!!!
"Enemy Yours" is fantastic. In this episode we can see how Martian Commander developed. He started from supporting roles in Bugs Bunny program, for long time was without big job, and now, in "Duck Dogders" he presents relatively more of his talent. And is the highest time, cause he isn't getting younger, but "Enemy Yours" may made him a star. What's plot? Oh, Dodgers and Commander are fighting but suddenly martian has a phone to back and save Mars, disappointed DD he just said "You? You're no one to me. I've got real enemies, you're good for the break". But lovelorn Dodgers decide to fight for a Commander. Finally he saves Queen, free Mars and became her enemy. Commander is great in this role, first cold, arrogant, rude and sometimes even bored by Dodgers, but when he turns to Queen we see change in character, he's broked and he can only said that other enemies wasn't really important for him. And in every part he's so truly, so realistic, so GREAT! what we really love him.
Second part I don't remember too much but "Enemy Yours" is something you must seen.
Silence of the samurai.
I can called this episode essence of essence of "Samurai Jack". There's no one word, it's tough, moving, deep, even more compact than usually by parting into four smaller parts ("Spring", "Summer", "Autumn", "Winter"). So why not 10? There's only one reason. It's "Winter". I've never seen better mute cartoon. Try to imagine that brood of warriors live in caves with only one purpose, made a sword with whom they can defeat Jack, when they done it they all fight who will go to wait for samurai. The one who win goes outside, he might wait years, it's not said. Jack at last appears and crashes his sword by one cut. End. In this moment I said "Oh, my God". It's masterpiece in all aspects, graphic, plot, music (just few simple sounds, but any, ANY of them comes from the characters) with whom remaining parts, although very good, cannot measure. But if I had to choose one from them I would mention "Spring", which show us quite unexpected story of Jack and some lady.
Probaply the funniest episode in cartoon.
This episode is different than most in "Samurai Jack" because he isn't such serious and it's really funny. The idea is old as world, we have impulsive, talkative, crude Scotsman and serious, distinguish, cultural Jack. But the story, quite simple: Scotsman wants Jack to to help him rescue wife, and !!!FIRST OF ALL!!! absolutely phenomenal dubbing by Grochoczynski made me laugh from the first moment. Scenes in Scotland are also phenomenal, with allusions to "Braveheart" and "Star Wars". Scots there are very similar to Scotsman, superstitious, naive and HUGE. Next super star is Scotsman wife, far different from opinion of husband. If you see this trio once you cannot ever forget it. And, of course, it isn't just simple toon, hidden under brilliant comism is deeper sense, we learn that friendship is sometimes difficult, but it's still friendship.
The Black Adder: Born to Be King (1983)
My favorite's from the series.
Why? Mainly because of same intrigue. King Richard (Brian Blessed) gone to the crusade (because as the God said: "love your neighbors like yourself, hardly they're Turkish") and Harry became a regent. Edmund of course want's to take his place. And then to the castle arrives most capital character of episode- McAngus (Alex Norton), Richard's Scottish crusade colleague. He is like typical barbarian, wears leathers, horribly laughs, but... he also know's how Edmund can became a king. From this moment Edmund loves him, and from that moment intrigue is really superb, brilliant humor, changes of situation and unexpected end. As I sad all actors are great but Norton- yes, that's his episode.
