Bait Shop (2008)
Goofy movie, goofy Bill
First off I will say that I like The Bill Engvall Show, and I'm a fan of Billy Ray Cyrus, so all bias aside this was one silly movie. Goofy characters, goofy premise but all in all a decent family movie. Engvall is funny as a down on his luck southerner with a passion for fishing, Cyrus is everything Bill wants to be. The two of them (and supporting cast) are really funny with some stock characters thrown in there just to be sure we get the point. Good TV movie, great for fans who enjoy simple entertainment every so often, and good for those who enjoy down home Bill and Billy.
"Frankly my darn, i don't give a dear."
The Jeff Foxworthy Show (1995)
Not his best, but not his fault.
Jeff Foxworthy gets the title of a redneck comedian because of those "You might be a redneck...." jokes. What a lot of people don't realize is that his best stuff is about family and his wife. In this show they tried to get him to far away from his roots to work. I liked the show, i thought it was a good family sitcom maybe his target audience were those who already liked his stand up (but he is one of the top selling comedians of all time so that target audience is pretty vast) maybe the target audience were those that had never heard of him, regardless ABC dropped the ball, NBC did a little better, but still if you want a family friendly show, take a peak, it's a pretty cheap DVD set.
George of the Jungle 2 (2003)
In order to rate this movie fairly you have to think about the genre it's supposed to be: children's. They had more guidelines to follow in order to make this movie (meaning it could not get away with some of the humor and or language from the 1st) taking all that in this movie was fun and enjoyable to watch. Sequels usually make me nervous, however this one did pretty well for itself. Knowing that it didn't have the star power of Fraiser as George they capitalized on the humor and i believe Showeman did pretty well as the lead. The plot being easy to follow and maybe campy at times fits well for a younger audience, if you want to watch a movie and hope for academy award honors this is not it, but if you want to watch a simple, fun, energy filled movie you would make a good choice with this one.
Better than the rest.
I have seen every "Herbie" movie that is out there, and i have to say that this particular movie was my favorite. It's a fun film for all ages, having the child like appeal Herbie, who drives right into your heart. It also has fan favorite actors such as Bruce Campbell (Of Evil Dead fame, it was he who actually drew me to this movie.)And John Hannah (The Mummy) I think this movie deserved a theatrical release, for it did well enough for Disney for them to call back Bruce Campbell for another adventure. As TV movies and straight to video/DVD releases go this one is probably the best overall. Herbie is a fun character to watch and this one blows Lindsey Lohan's of the track. Puns intended.
George of the Jungle (1997)
Great Kids movie but fun for adults as well
as a ten year old this was my favorite movie because of the physical comedy and the funny animals, as an adult I've realized that it is still my favorite movie because of the funny dialog, and the great on screen chemistry by the actors, Fraiser is to funny as the dense hero and church is a hysterical villain and comic legend John Cleese as the voice for Ape is an awesome addition to an all ready funny movie. It has a good plot and moves pretty fast, and of course the characters keep you in hysterics from beginning to the end. from the jungle guides to George himself all the characters out together a very good movie. go and get this movie fast before it's to late!
