Such a disappointment. I'm really sick and tired of all the disrespect and vulgarity portrayed in movies lately. It's a disturbing trend.I think the people responsible for this movie are big fat cowards. They did not have the balls to tell this story in a different, more original way. And I'm not talking about the occasional F-word or something. Why do people lower their standards more and more, including the actors. (except the young boy, what does he know) Joseph Gordon-Levitt did gave a solid performance and Devin Brochu was quite good, I'll give them that.Hoping to see more of Devin in the future and hopefully he doesn't sink so low to play in raunchy movies that give the wrong impression about"real life". This is not real life, as someone else mentioned..what? I wonder where you live...
Truly one of the worse movies I've ever seen. I can't believe this was made anno 2009. Such a cheap and inmature script, especially towards the end. You could see those monster sex scenes coming from a mile away and I was thinking...really? It's the choice of a coward really (the writer) And just before that the female lead has to tear off it's dress and get it naked just to cut of it's.... tail? It's things like this that strip a movie from any class and some credibility.
I watched the trailer which led me to believe it was some kind of thriller/horror movie. It is not. It's actually very slow with no suspense at all. In the last 12 minutes they attempt to put some "thrill" in it, which is not working. I want to erase this movie from my mind ASAP. I'm sorry I didn't turn it off after the first 30 minutes when I already had serious doubts. But I had high hopes it would get better. It actually got worse and worse.
Such a shame that an actor like Adrien Brody, whom I just admired in The pianist, and whom I loved in The Jacket, is forever linked with this dreck of a movie.
Where was Michael?
I don't understand the raving reviews. While watching this concert I cringed a lot. Michael covering his mouth all the time because he was lip syncing in his solo parts. Then he 'sang' the last minute of the songs live, as if that fooled anyone. (well, reading the other reviews, apparently it did)
Then Man in the Mirror gets totally messed over by Usher and Luther. Terrible execution of a beautiful song, I hated it. The whole while I got the feeling Michael didn't really had fun, almost as if he wasn't there. Maybe he didn't feel well. He seemed embarrassed about the lip syncing also or afraid. I think I saw him smile once and look at the audience twice or something.
I enjoyed the Jackson 5 part but Michael's solo's just made me sad and I did not care for all the other messy artists.
