The Event: To Keep Us Safe (2010)
The Only Thing Worth Watching on Monday Nights
Of course, aliens. Should have seen that one coming. In one episode The Event went from being a mystery show to an alien show. Fortunately we got some more information on what's going on with the plane, that old lady, and whats-his-face's girlfriend, which was the one thing I really wanted to find out and ended up being the best part of the show. We got some new characters, lost some new characters, and got more freaking' background information than needed. Lost had a lot of characters, so all the back stories were cool, but there aren't that many characters in this show, yet have of it is flashbacks. So now the main character has been arrested, we got an undercover alien hunting for hidden aliens, a plane full of mysteriously dead people and a president who just stands around and listens to people give him information. I hope this gets better, there's nothing else to watch on Mondays.
Tries to hard to be the new LOST.
Flashbacks, mysterious characters, air planes, confusion. Didn't LOST just end? The whole story is based on a bundle of characters all connected to the attempted murder of the president using an air plane. !SPOILER ALERT! in the end they are transported in some black hole type thing, which may or may not be "The Event". It is definitely not as good as the pilot for LOST. The directing style seems to be a copy of 24, even the president looks like a young Dennis Haysbert. So really this show is just a bunch of shows rolled into one. The performances are great but it doesn't help the unoriginality. Overall, I'll probably keep watching it, only because nothing else is on, on Mondays. Also I would be lying if I said it wasn't interesting.
The Enforcer (1976)
Harry's back! In his third, disappointing, adventure!
The Enforcer is definitely not as good as the original Dirty Harry (can't compare it to the second one, haven't seen it yet). The first movie had a simple premise. Simple and yet, genius. One bad guy, One cop. But in this movie, people die and the audience is left wondering, why. Characters you've never seen before are killed and you're wondering if they're important. Harry's back on the police force in this movie, which angers me. The ending to Dirty Harry where he throws away his badge was perfect. Also we barely get to see any action from Harry. There's only about 2 scenes where he's fighting someone. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I expected more from Clint.
The Creature Wasn't Nice (1983)
So Bad It's Good!
I saw this movie for the reason a lot of people saw it. It was called Naked Space. I assumed it would be as good as The Naked Gun series. But instead I got one of the cheesiest space movies I've ever seen, but overall it was freaking' hilarious! Sometimes I would be laughing at the jokes, but most of the time I was laughing at the acting and dialogue. I love Leslie Nielsen, and he was the closest this film got to decent. Although I can't say that I didn't enjoy the "I Want to Eat Your Face" musical number. So I'm not saying it was the greatest movie I've ever seen, but I'm not saying it was the worst. It was an overacted, badly directed, terribly written spoof. And it was hilarious!
