A bit disappointed considering how much this show was hyped
8 April 2023
Well, what can I say: This series had so much potential to separate itself from the hundreds of other historical k-dramas out there:

  • a phenomenal cast
  • the Grand Princes with their extraordinary personalities and their strong bond
  • and a great soundtrack.

In the end, the Grand Princes took pretty much a backseat, barely to be seen towards the second half of the show. Instead, they focused way too much on the typical schemes and betrayal happening within the palast walls, just as all the other historical dramas out there. If it hadn't been for the Queen, who is definitely a legendary character, partially thanks to Kim Hyesoo's perfect portrayal, I would've rated it even lower than that.

If you want to watch...
21 August 2022
...a devastating, heartbreaking series that will break your heart a thousand times more after realizing that most of those things actually happened in real life, then this show is for you.

But seriously though: This is one of those stories where you're constantly sad and frustrated because you don't want to accept that someone can be this unlucky, that this truly happened to these poor souls, and yet you can't stop watching because you're hooked. And the cast's outstanding performance is one the reasons why.

Judging by this only, you will not be disappointed.

But be ready to shed a few tears if you're gonna watch this.

The best part about this show is the leads' chemistry
5 August 2022
...and some adorable side characters. But the overall story is quite flat, chliché and foreseeable. I feel like the producers felt the same way, which is why they included some court cases in the story that were disregarded in the middle of the show just to be put back on screen at the end of it to keep the viewers interested...? I don't know, but they seemed quite random at that point.

So yeah, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't overly good either.

This series is a MASTERPIECE - and highly underrated.
2 July 2022
This series is a MASTERPIECE, and nothing less.

It's funny, it's heartbreaking, it's sad.

It makes you feel hate, it makes you feel love, and it makes you think - about our behavior as human-beings, about the power we have to do good, but also the power to destroy someone, including ourselves.

Yes, some of the supporting characters might have healed to quickly (the girl who was bullied or the one with an eating disorder, for example).

But the overall message was very clear.

And. I. LOVED. It.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!

Great characters, no big surprises
8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't wait to finally watch this drama as the plot seemed quite interesting, though that whole gender switch thing isn't anything new in the drama world.

And as it usually is with dramas I am more than excited to start watching, said excitement died down from episode to episode.

Why?

There weren't any big surprises in the plot. There is this typical power struggle between the royal clans, corrupt state officials and a rebellion. A second male and a second female lead exists too and the usual (ridiculous!!!) "I need to break up with you to protect you" is also included in the drama's storyline. And a parent not approving of the lead couple's relationship. And palast staff that makes you laugh. And...

So far, the usual drama clichés.

A few things were kind of weird to me, like the fact that two characters drink poison and the one who started drinking it and therefore who's body came in contact with the poison way earlier than the other character survives while the other dies. Umm... just because the producers wanted a happy end...?

The ones who kind of "saved" the show were the actors who did a phenomenal job portraying their respective characters and the characters itself, with most of them being super adorable, funny and just to fall in love with (at least the good ones).

If it wasn't for Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Yoo Jung and...
15 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
...the amazing supporting characters, this show would be a total waste. Sounds harsh, but it's the truth.

The plot sounds really special in the beginning, and it kind of is. And while I felt like they did their best to emphasize the unique part of the storyline in the first half of the show, they totally messed up the second. Because the episodes were always about the same thing: Cheon Gi trying to finish the royal portrait so Ma Wang can be sealed in it, Ha Ram trying to prevent her from doing so because he didn't want anything happen to her (despite not having a better solution to the problem of having Ma Wang sealed in his body) and Grand Prince Juhyang trying to seal Ma Wang in his own body. Over and over and over again. Every small thing that happens in between is predictable and cliché-ridden.

It's such a shame, really, because the cast is so damn talented and the overall plot had great potential. But I guess it always depends on what you make out of it and in this very case, the writers/producers did a poor job, apparently.

Good in the beginning, annoying second half
6 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The idea behind the plot - a girl with memory loss who sees scents and a lonely man who can't feel pain after losing his sister - was actually quite original and they really could've turned this into an amazing drama.

But they didn't.

While it started out quite well, it got repetitive, boring and inconsistent towards the second half.

Boring, because it was pretty obvious mid-series who was killer, repetitive because I don't know how many times the killer slipped through their fingers for ridiculous reasons and inconsistent because the whole "girl can see smells" part was suddenly irrelevant in the middle part and never really came up anymore until the very end and because they have left so many loose ends. We never see the two mains perform at the comedy theater. It is unclear to me how the female lead didn't know her parents were dead when she found out about her real identity when she knew that she hasn't seen them for years and she was a witness to a murder case. Like, girl, put two and two together maybe?! Also, the main couple somehow was back to being a couple without really talking about getting back together. It just happened. Umm, okay then.

Seeing the overall ratings, this must be an unpopular opinion, but...
19 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
...what the hell did I even watch?!

But before I get to the downside of this show, let's begin with the good:

The cinematography was amazing, the stunts were great but never too over the top, and last but not least, the cast did an outstanding job. Oh, right, and the soundtrack was quite cool too. So all of that is why this show still deserves those 5 stars at least.

But the storyline was pretty much non existent. None of the two male main characters had a purpose they fought for from the very beginning. And even halfway through the show their goals changed constantly. First, it was revenge for this, then revenge for that, and so on and so forth.

And don't get me started on the main males' friendship. This is the most ridiculous best friend relationship I've ever seen. One of them sends the other to war to "protect him" from his evil father, even though the chance of surviving as a soldier in the military at the time was zero - but sure, just send him to war. And no matter whatever else they fought for or whom they fought - although they always had the same goal in mind and the same target, they always ended up fighting for rivaled groups, thus becoming each other's enemies on paper, even stabbing each other - of course to protect each other according to the writer, duh - and constantly do things that gets the other one in trouble.

In short: while the writer wants us to to think they have the strongest bond and friendship there ever is, even making them die for each other, the true loyal friends are the people behind the two of them who constantly show throughout the series what true best friends would do: fight ALONGSIDE each other, TRULY protect each other and having each other's back no matter what. No betraying, no games, no secrecy. Just pure loyalty and love. So tell me ones again how the two male leads' friendship was oh so amazing?!?!

12 episodes of pure healing
18 August 2021
I'm going to be really honest with you: I did not know where this show was headed as the description of the plot somewhat hints at the show to be a BL drama. So, if you're thinking in the same direction, let me tell you this: It's NOT.

Instead, this series is about three young people - who couldn't possibly be any more different from each other - meeting in college and finding themselves constantly tangled up in each other's business, thus leading to them becoming the most unexpected best friends - and more (remember: NO BL DRAMA HERE! Lol).

And during this journey of becoming friends, they not only learn a lot about each other, but also about themselves and about society - ultimately giving us viewers a few life lessons on the way.

And while everything I just said sounded super boring and serious and typical, this show is anything but, I promise you! You'll laugh to your heart's content, you'll shed a few tears and - most importantly - you'll feel empowered and recharged with energy to tackle the next challenge of your life after watching this amazing series.

So why the minus?

Somewhere between episodes 8 to 10 I felt like the plot lost its energy and like it was stuck somehow...? But that only lasted for 1 episode, 2 max. And resolved itself quickly after.

Boring, confusing, touching...?
1 August 2021
I don't mind mini-series. They usually have a great length for a lazy day at home - and so did this one.

Challenge with mini-series: it is hard to find the right pace for the story and for me, this show kind of failed at it. The first 5 or 6 episodes were pretty boring and until then, I had no idea where the story was headed, which was frustrating.

It was only in/after episode 7 when everything started to make sense and more feelings and emotions were involved, thus making me catch interest. And BOOM, just like that, when I had just realized what was going on and loving it, the show ended lol.

There are a few things I want to highlight though: The cinematography and the scene edits were fantastic and the soundtrack was really fitting.

Also, I loved the characters, especially Go Chae Gyeong, Shin Ho Yoon and Myeong aka the main trio.

Kind of disappointing...
27 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really looked forward to this show and was excited to watch it. While the concept of enemies being in a fake relationship together isn't new at all, I liked the creativeness of it being a popstar who symbolically marries his anti-fan for a reality show.

While the first few episodes were quite good and made me fall in love with the female lead, my excitement quickly died down.

Because this show turned out to be very cliché and superficial. One minute the leads still hate each other - with the male lead being still hung up on his first love - and the next, they start liking each other?? Like, don't get me wrong, we all anticipated it, but I felt like there were missing a few steps to better describe the slow transition from hate to love.

Another no no thing was the second leads. I've never seen such unnecessary, boring and annoying second lead characters as the ones in this drama. All they did was cause trouble and act super selfish and immature - and all of it with quite the amount of screen time.

Last but not least, the final episodes really overdid it with including clichés. I mean, they really had to play the "I'm sorry, I have to get my life back on track and make things right again so please wait for me and I'll come to you when I'm ready"- card. But that's not all: while Joon's career seemed to be going down the drain, the reason he literally leaves his still recovering friends and his newly found love who had to deal with a lot of shit because of him is to just to go and produce a song and come back a popstar again??? Dafuq?? After one of the central messages of this show is that being a celeb isn't as shiny as one might think and Joon himself pulled the brakes on his career because he finally came to the conclusion that keeping his career isn't worth hurting and/or losing his loved ones??

But oh, let me just come back to you after months and propose to you although we've never even openly dated and have been separated more than we've dated each other. Yep, makes sense.

Sorry for my rant.

ANYWAYS, story-wise this show was quite disappointing. But that doesn't apply to the actors and actresses who all did an amazing job. Also, there ARE quite a few adorable scenes between the main couple, plus I loved Geunyeoung's best friends and Joon's manager.

Great but not perfect
20 May 2021
First things first: This show is definitely worth watching. Not because of the plot (it's pretty average and cliché if you ask me) but because of the amazing characters and the great OST.

There were quite a few characters I just loved seeing interacting so much, I wish I was a character myself and hang out with them. Especially the K&K boys, they were so adorable and fun!

The main couple was cute too but the evolvement and the stages of their relationship were so cliché, there were no real surprises there. Rather I was quite annoyed/frustrated with their behavior a few times.

The thing that annoyed me the most about this show and the main reason for minus points to me are the many many backflashes which were often repeatedly shown. If they were to be removed, I'm pretty sure this drama could be shortened to 2/3 of its current length. I'm not kidding.

Also, they focused too much on the backstory and past of Team Solo. A few backflashes to show what they've been like together and to explain their current relationship with each other would've been enough but nope, there several unnecessary backflash scenes and one of them was even 10 minutes long.10 MINUTE BACKFLASH IN JUST 1 EPISODE!!! To make it worse, their backflash scenes were even shown over and over again throughout the whole drama. Literally the exact same scenes! Kind of like the backflash of the backflash of the backflash! It was so tiring, I started skipping them.

Underrated!!!
13 May 2021
This show deserves a higher average rating on imdb if you ask me...

The plot isn't your ordinary kdrama plot (though it does have some typical drama elements, it IS a romantic drama after all, but continuing): A young, 30 year old woman who's been in a coma after a severe accident wakes up after 13 years - and has to overcome the fact that she isn't the 17 year old girl she was when she was last conscious. Struggling to adapt to her new self, she flees her rehab center and finds herself back at her old home to see her aunt and uncle who've been taking care of her ever since her parents died in her teens just to find out that her aunt and uncle had sold the house and nowhere to be found. And at her old house is where she meets Gong Woo Jin who just moved back into the house with his nephew after traveling for a while. And this is basically where the drama starts.

The story is generally quite slow as in most secrets are only revealed in the very last few episodes. But I didn't find it boring at all because it gave the opportunity for the characters to shine and for us viewers to watch them grow and evolve. To be honest, I think their growth is what this show is actually about which is why the secrets were revealed so late. And I loved it.

I was quite surprised there was almost no annoying, evil or overly dramatic character (at least none that stayed for a while/appeared often) which is quite unusual for dramas and it was SO REFRESHING! Also, don't get me started on the recurring main or supporting characters of this show because I don't even know how to express how much I loved them! There was the iconic one (Jennifer), the adorable ones (Yoo Chan & Woo Seori), the funny ones (Haebeom, Deoksoo, Jin Hyun) the amazing, supportive one (Heesoo) and the one with a heart of gold (Gong Woojin). And all of them together was the perfect mix to make you laugh really hard, cry a river or feel at home.

The OST was really good too and I don't think I've ever downloaded as many instrumental songs as I did from this OST.

The only reason why I give a minus is because while I loved everything I just told you, I didn't feel the need to binge-watch this show as much as I did with others even though I can't explain why.

I wish I could give a better rating than this, but...
4 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all:

I HIGHLY respect the whole cast & crew for sticking together and basically filming the same drama twice and still maintain such a high quality in acting and cinematography. That's real professionalism right there.

Now onto the reason you're actually reading this: the drama itself.

This show is a constant up and down.

It started out really well. The story seemed interesting and I loved the characters.

From episode 6 to episode 7 is when the main actor switch from Jisoo to Na Inwoo happens which I was technically prepared for. In reality, due to the sudden change of the male lead's actor and the tight schedule of refilming the drama, On Dal (the male lead) barely appears for the following two episodes which obviously feels odd to the viewer because he's the male lead, his "disappearance" didn't really fit into the storyline and before and after said two episodes he's everywhere again (which he should).

Now, as the cast and crew did the best they could in a short period of time and considering Na Inwoo did an amazing job in portraying On Dal during the rest of the drama, I had managed to look past it. So starting from around episode 9, the drama had taken a turn for the better again and I really enjoyed watching it.

Unfortunately, only a few episodes later I started to get tired of the drama - this time not because of the cast & crew but because of the turn the storyline took from there. All the amazing characters I grew to love in all the previous episodes either died, had less and less screen time or changed for worse. In addition to that, the number of drama-typical scenes and apparent "plot twists" suddenly started to grow - with the couple breaking up even though it doesn't make sense, a perfectly sane crown prince with a very good relationship to his sister turning into a schizophrenic monster who blames and distrusts her, to name just a few.

At that point, I really started looking forward to finishing this show, though I gotta admit I still couldn't help but keep watching as I wanted to see it to its end.

The finale was also very stereotypical but at least it was generally a finale I can live with when it comes to the fate of the show's characters.

According to a screenwriters not in the beginning of every episode, the drama is supposed to be based on On Dal's life (of course with a few changes). But from my little research I did after reading it, I'm not really sure how much of the drama is truly based on his and the princess' life. Especially considering the many stereotypical drama elements and twist and turns they used towards the second half/the end.

The cinematography and the acting was phenomenal. The soundtrack was beautiful too.

No need to watch it twice
4 May 2021
This show was boring and quite unexciting for a while and when finally something happened between the main couple the drama was already over.

I'm aware it's a mini series but dramas like Where your Eyes linger prove that a lot of emotions and storytelling can be put in a mini series without seeming over the top or rushed.

This one pretty much went from 0 to 100 in one episode.

What I liked about it was the soundtrack (it's a music drama, duh) and the acting.

Wtf did I watch?!
15 April 2021
To be honest, I don't like giving bad ratings because the people on set, the cast and the screenwriters usually work very hard on each and every one of their projects and I don't want to disrespect them or their work.

But this show is a complete joke from beginning to end.

This was my first drama with Jo In Sung so this is his only work I know so far. And while his acting was often times really good, there were also scenes where his acting was ridiculous. Like when his character is stabbed in the first or so episode, his moaning of pain and his facial expressions and everything was so unnatural and weird and ridiculous. So from the very beginning it was kind of hard for me to take him seriously.

But not only him. All of the characters in this show were nuts. They stab each other, beat each other up, threaten each other and you would think they're the biggest enemies ever. But no, then they save each others' lives or help each other out and you're like "oh, I guess they're friends now" and BAM then they beat each other up again. Like...???????

Even the female lead is that way, though not as violent and manipulating as the rest. But one minute she tells the people who betrayed her that she won't be able to forgive them no matter how much they begged her to and the next she's all happy and excited they're back and plays house with them???

Also, in my opinion Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung had ZERO chemistry. ZERO!!!! I was literally numb to whatever happened on screen between them.

Last but not least, while the plot sounded great and kind of special in the beginning (which is why I even started watching this drama) it turned out to be predictable and full of clichés.

I'm really really sorry for saying this but this was one of the worst dramas I've ever seen and a complete waste of my time.

All in all a good drama
19 March 2021
Watching this drama was a series of ups and downs, me liking it, me being annoyed at it, me being bored and me being completely caught by what was shown on screen.

The first few episodes were kind of boring and I was quite confused for at least 2/3 of the show - the latter is obviously intentional as the confusion, suspense and unknown is what keeps you watching.

But around episode 10 I was kind of fed up with the ups and downs and I felt like the drama kind of stopped evolving? Like, nothing new was being explained and I felt like the content of the episodes were repetitive in a way. So at that point I was actually looking forward to finishing the show.

And that was the case until I actually finished the drama. Because that was the first time everything that has happened in the drama made sense to me. Like everything concluded well and although the ending is sad, it just made sense to me in a way because I could pinpoint where everything started to go wrong and why everything happened the way it happened.

I also loved the way you keep seeing the characters in different lights throughout the journey the more you find out about them: you literally go from hating to liking back to hating and again back to liking a character or various of them. It also made me realize what an amazing job the actors did, especially the male lead though.

Even though I felt good and content at the end of the drama, I still gotta admit this show was a constant up and down which is why I removed a few points.

UNDERRATED!!!!
16 March 2021
First things first:

This is one of the most underrated dramas I've seen so far. I'm pretty sure due to poor ratings and views the drama was cut down to only 12 episodes because no other drama has such an unusual number of episodes. And all of that because the majority was too impatient to give this slow-paced drama a true chance.

It is a bit confusing and odd in the first two episodes and because you don't understand what is going on at first it may also come off as boring.

But in episode 3 (4 at the latest) you start to realize that this show is anything but. It's comforting, warm and I felt like I was on a trip of emotional healing myself instead of just watching the show's characters heal.

This show is like honey on a soar throat. The glue for a broken heart. Wellness for your emotional health.

Definitely one of my faves.

The minus point is for the weird first two episodes and the fact that I didn't quite understand the female lead's behavior in the final episode (probably because the ending was kind of rushed because of the cut down number of episodes and them trying to put everything in one final episode without having the time to explain every action perfectly well).

A Love So Beautiful (2020–2021)

I love this show
8 March 2021
I love the chinese original version (watched it twice) and I love this version as well! They really did a great job with this remake and while I constantly compared the cast and characters of both versions in the beginning, I grew to love the korean cast so much I stopped comparing them along the way and only saw them for who they were.

The plot is simply about life as a teenager and everything one has to deal with while growing up - from grades, career choices and friendship to your first love.

And here's the thing some people apparently forget about: During 80% of the show the characters are teenagers so OF COURSE they're going to act impulsive, immature or even mean sometimes. As a teenager you're confronted with emotions you haven't felt before or at least not to that depth and you don't know why you feel that way or how to deal with it so yes, you're gonna do and say things you don't mean. And this is exactly what this show is about: growing up with all of your firsts and mistakes you make along the way!

I bet none of you were perfect as teenagers either so don't be too hard on the characters and their behavior along the way.

Instead, enjoy this light drama and feel yourself thrown back to your teenage/high school years.

Underrated!!!
28 February 2021
It's really kind of sad how this show is more of the category undiscovered just because the main cast is rather unknown or an idol which is why I guess people don't expect much of this show.

But it's seriously so good!!!

The first few episodes are the typical character introductions and their backstories and even though that part is usually the least attractive one of a drama I wasn't bored. That first part is also more on the comedic side.

Which is why I was a little overwhelmed when the series took a turn and it suddenly got very dark, mysterious and also kind of psycho. But I loved it and literally couldn't stop watching! One thing though: the romance in this show isn't as prominent as you'd expect of a drama that is declared as one. Especially in the second part, it really takes a backseat. So please be aware of that fact!

I also loved the characters very much. The cast did an amazing job playing them and I truly mean that.

Downsides/minus points: 1. Although there were unexpected twists and surprises in the show, the general direction it would take and which characters could be hiding something was pretty clear from the beginning. I wish they hadn't pointed to those characters as much as they did to make it even more surprising. 2. The ending was unnecessarily stretched out. They could've concluded the show in episode 14 but nope, they went on and made basically a full episode (ep.15) about them looking for the culprits who were hiding in a place that was so obvious, they could've thought of that way earlier.

All in all, I definitely recommend this show if you like crime/mystery content with amazing and lovable characters!

Run On (2020–2021)

Not your usual kdrama
21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really loved this show and it really should be watched by more people.

The plot isn't the main focus of this show but rather the growth of each and every one of the show's characters from beginning to end.

While it has few drama-usual elements such as the rich/political father being an absolute jerk to his family and only caring about his own success, the drama itself is anything but cliché, thanks to the majority of the characters and especially the leads and their journey of growth. The characters are going to surprise you more than once.

Another thing I loved is the fact that this show talks about important matters of life such as self-value, self-reflection, homosexuality, degradation and sexualization of females at their workplace, the social status of orphans and many more!

Also, I've never seen such a beautiful ending in terms of the final scene having all characters on screen one last time no matter how big or small their role was and yet have it fit into the show's storyline.

Despite everything good this show has given me, I was bored during two or three scenes (mostly the Candy movie scenes - you'll know when you watch it) and I'm a little disappointed they left loose ends. In the beginning of the show, Mijoo kept carrying a lighter that looks like a gun with her and at one point she literally had a panic attack because she thought she was being followed which made it seem like something had happened to her in her past. But it is never further explained, even though that gun does play an important role in the show's development and it is even mentioned in the final episode again. Another one of those loose ends is Seo Dannahs illness which is hinted at in the beginning as well. We never learn what illness she has or why her half-brother seems to have the same illness. And then her father suddenly dies even though he was playing golf a few episodes prior. Maybe he was ill too? But we'll never find out. Which is kind of sad because if you're gonna give those things screen time then at least explain why it happened at some point.

True Beauty (2020–2021)
8/10
Awesome cast, average story
15 February 2021
*I haven't read the webtoon so everything I'm gonna say refers to the drama only*

The plot isn't that special and this drama is full of clichés and exaggerations to the point that I rolled my eyes quite a lot and scenes that were supposed to be funny weren't funny at all because they were just too ridiculous.

As the drama develops, the number of exaggerated and ridiculous scenes thankfully decreases a bit and I really started enjoying the show.

And here's the but:

In retrospect, I gotta admit that there's a pretty high chance I was so invested in this drama because of the cast. They're all very talented and have faces to swoon over (even the supporting roles!!!) and I just couldn't stop staring at them plus I'm a big fan of the main trio. I love Moon Gayeong and Cha Eunwoo and despite his small role as a supporting character Hwang In Yeop really cought my attention in the Tale of Nokdu. All three of them had great chemistry with each other and just seeing their characters interacting with each other was good enough for me. The plot really took a backseat.

As for the message of the show, in my opinion they really failed at displaying it. I'm sure they meant to bring across that no one can define your beauty but yourself and that confidence and self-love and self-acceptance is the key but instead they glorified makeup and made it seem like cosmetics solve your problem with bullies but kids, that ain't it!!! Especially not if you have the face of Moon Gayeong. Not even acne skin can make her truly ugly.

And the way they put characters with beautiful faces on a pedestal and seeing everyone around them glorifying the "beauties" like popstars was really sickening.

Conclusion: Good drama with awesome characters, plot lacks originality and is full of clichés and ridiculous exaggerations, failed at bringing the message of the drama across

I loved it!
6 February 2021
To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first when I realized that this show only has 8 episodes because I don't like too fast-paced stories.

Surprisingly, despite the low number of total episodes, the story never felt too rushed. As a result, the main couple doesn't reach the level of "total lovebirds" as couples in other dramas or the super adorable second lead couple of this show, but that's ok.

In the end, I loved pretty much everything about it - from the cast to the characters, the soundtrack, the message of this show and the warmth I've felt throughout the whole drama thanks to the amazing friendships depicted in it.

The only reason I removed one star is because the plot itself isn't totally new and a little predictable.

However, I've never felt like this show was missing something and although the plot is predictable, I was never bored because it was fun to watch all the character and relationship developments. The fact that the perpetrator of the anonymous messages isn't revealed until the last third of the show adds some suspense to the drama.

Conclusion: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this show.

Good Doctor (2013)

Great show with a few flaws
6 February 2021
First of all: No, I didn't watch the american version of this show so I might be totally wrong with my assumption.

But from what I've seen through trailers and coincidentally zapping to the show when it was on tv, the american version didn't catch my interest because in my opinion they focused too much on his special abilities as a doctor and his "geniusness" and less on the negative aspects and prejudices which an autistic person has to deal with on a daily basis.

And this version did a very good job depicting that. Because lets be real: society is not easy to deal with and unfortunately many people are bullied. And yes, doctors might be of high status but in the end they're still human so even though it was hard to watch, I don't think it's unrealistic that even between hospital employees and doctors specifically there's a lot of jealousy and mistreatment. And it was important to make that clear.

Also, I liked the many side stories about the little patients and getting a glimpse of their lives and problems and learning their stories and what brought them to the hospital.

What I didn't like was the whole (very typical) side plot about the hospital business itself and chairmen, businessmen and foundations fighting over the hospital. It was actually quite boring and unnecessary. They should've only focused on the main plot. That would've been enough if you ask me.

The ending of the show was quite satisfying, though a little too positive and happy go lucky in my opinion. Even the majority of the people who were like enemies throughout the show suddenly were on the pediatric team's side and the ones who weren't just weren't shown on screen anymore. I like happy endings but at least make it realistic.

All in all, I didn't regret watching it.

Conclusion: nice plot, very inspiring characters (specifically the patients), a few boring scenes in between.

TinCan couple for the win!!!
26 January 2021
I'm a drama binge-watcher and therefore I watch LOTS of dramas in a very short period of time which means a drama needs to be REALLY good to make me obsessed with it. And this drama did it!

I originally added it to my watchlist because of Seo Kang Joon. I LOVE him. And to say he did not disappoint is an understatement. He deserves every classy award there is in this world for his performance here, no kidding!!!

With the human Nam Sin and the robot Nam Sin III he plays two characters whose personalities couldn't be any more different from each other plus as the both of them kept imitating each other it was even more important to be able to switch their personalities in milliseconds and let me tell you, it was scarily real and perfectly done!

GIVE THIS MAN HIS AWARDS ALREADY!!!!

The introduction and background story is kept very short so after the first one or two episodes (one is 30 minutes) you get it over with, though even that part wasn't boring in any way.

After that, do not be surprised if you become an addict to the show and emotionally attached to its characters because you're not gonna be the only one! Especially the main couple and Ji Yeong Hoon are gonna steal your heart in record time, I promise you.

The plot is really unique and so relevant as robots and AI take on a more and more important role in our daily lives. This drama shows you one of the possibilities of how robots and humans might live side by side in the near future (and even form relationships with each other lol).

I couldn't stop watching but I also didn't want this show to end because I didn't want to say goodbye to the characters which have grown so much on me.

In short: This show is AMAZING.

The only reason I'm giving it a 9 is because the female lead was kind of annoying in the first few episodes (but don't worry, her character development makes up for it shortly after) and there were a few things that were never really explained or didn't make much sense, like the fact that a murder suspect is declared on the news before the police even arrives at the scene (no big news station would or could do that) or the fact that at first it says the kill switch was reactivated only to say it was never deactivated and only delayed shortly after.

I want to emphasize that these things do NOT interfere with the entertainment quality of this show and won't keep you from loving it! This drama is one of the BEST I've seen and made its way into my favorite dramas list!

However, I wanted to be fair to shows who put even more effort into small details which is why I removed one star.

Conclusion: ADDICTION ALERT
