Los monstruos del terror (1970)
Tired of People Bashing this Film
While Assignment Terror would never be considered for an Academy Award (nor any award for that matter), it's really not as unwatchable as some reviews have made sound to be. First off I have a nostalgic soft spot for this movie because I remember watching it as a child on my local TV stations Saturday afternoon "Creature Double Feature" show. Sure watching it now as an adult some the magic has worn off but I still think it's a fun film. I do agree with the posts that say it's a cross between "House of Frankenstein" and "Plan Nine From Outer Space" but it's just certain things that stand out in this movie that still makes it fun for me after these many years...
1. Paul Naschy as the Werewolf (way scarier looking then Chaney Jrs. Wolfman) 2. The resurrection of the Mummy (the whole resurrection by mirror is a different twist).
3.The battle between the Werewolf and the Mummy (scene of the Mummy spinning around in flames still sticks out in my mind) Like I said this film was never intended to win any awards and it does suffer from bad dubbing, bad FX (except for the monsters make-up)and there are more plot holes than swiss cheese but at 88 minutes (version I own) it's still a fun film when your not in the mood to use nary a brain cell.
