The Bucket List (2007)
One of the Best Films I've Seen!
The Bucket List is one of the best films I have seen in years, who is directed by Rob Reiner and starts the incredible and unforgettable cast Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The Bucket List is about two men, who are two completely different people with two different jobs and life styles, who find out they have cancer and get placed into the same hospital room and decide to make a 'Bucket List' of things they want to do before they kick-the-bucket.
The film's story definitely relates to real life and what dying cancer patients go through and think what will happen what will happen to them when they die. When each character learns and finds out that they have cancer and when they are going to pass, Nicholson and Freeman give great emotional performances. Nicholson gives one of his best performances in this movie since "The Shining", "As Good As It Gets", and "Five Easy Pieces." Not to mention Morgan Freeman who did an outstanding job since "Million Dollar Baby".
Even though the film tackles on a depressing and true life subject, screenwriter Justin Zackham gives us great dialouge from each character, making you laugh hysterical and make you want to cry. The Bucket List is an excellent film that tackles on real life and friendship and how to live life to the fullest. Despite all of the harsh reviews from critics, I recommend this film to ANYONE who wants a good laugh or is in the mood for a tear jerker.
The Shining (1997)
"The Shining" (Mini) shines through
Stephen King's version of the "The Shining" is a great short mini-series consisting of three parts which recreate King's version of his book. The acting is top notch, it may not be Nicholson but Steven Webber did an excellent job as Jack Tolerence he even won an Emmy for it. People may think that this version of "The Shining" is total crap and is a rip off of Kubrick's version of the Shining.. but you'd be wrong. This version is just great, it really depends if your more of a King book fan or a Nicholson/ Kubrick fan. As far as the remake part, it's not really a remake because most of the parts of this mini series is different from the original version. 5 stars, I recommend anyone to see this if they are bored as hell. Great film.
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
Just got back from seeing the Bounre Ultimatum and it was awesome! Matt Damon and Julia Stilles did a great job on the acting, so did the actors who played Pam Landy and Noah Vosen. The story was amazing.. pulled me in once I saw Jason limping with a bullet wound in his shoulder and leg w/ all the flashbacks. And the ending was great, didn't expect it.
The fight scenes were great, the camera was still shaky in a lot of the shots, but I liked it. Very suspenseful scene (SPOILERS AHEAD!!) when Desh, assassin, was after Jason and Nikki. I thought Desh was about to kill Nikki, but Bourne jumped off one of a rooftops and jumped through the window: and the fight began. (END OF SPOILER)
That was my favorite scene. The ending was great and I thought (SPOILER AHEAD!!!) the Bourne series was going to start all over again because he got shot in the back twice by Noah and jumped about 10 stories off a building and lands into the water, even some of the shots of him under the water were almost the same from Identity. Then at the end, they have a news footage about the whole Tredstone/ Blackbauer project thing and arresting Noah and the creator of this project, Dr. Alan (I think that's his name), and Nikki smiles once she hears the words: "David Webb, known as Jason Bourne, was shot in the back twice by Noah Vosen and fell from a 10 story building and into the water. His body is still not found, but we're still looking for it." She miles, Extreme Ways by Moby starts playing and then the final shot of the Bourne series: Jason swimming off. (END OF SPOILER!!!)
The Bourne Ultimatum is a great movie, I think in my opinion, the best one ever made. It's a HUGE improvement fromt he Supremacy. If you think Ultimatum won't be as good because its the 3rd and sequel to the not soo good 2nd one, you'd be fooled and wrong. It's an awesome movie, #5 on the best action movie ever made on IMDb.com. There is another car chase sequence in the film, and this time, it's much bigger, and better than the ones in Identity and Supremacy. Two thumbs way up and 4 stars!
I recommend ANYONE to see it, you don't need to see the first two in order to see Ultimatum, you'll get it from the moment it draws you in.
