10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
good things come in small packages
I think this is a fun adaptation of "Taming of the Shrew." It is the ultimate girl rage movie. I love the Cat Stratford character, she is so bad ass. I like that she values intelligence over being popular. Heath Ledger is still cute in this movie even though his hair is extremely weird looking. I mean what were they thinking with raggedy mane. There are a lot of little funny parts in this movie that make it great. For example: when the people crash the nerd party, and the doorbell rings and the king of the nerds says "That must be Nigel with the Brie" Then a whole group of cool kids come running in and if you look closely you can see the Nigel character carrying a trey of brie! It cracks me up every time. I really enjoy this movie. The small characters really make the movie; the dad and the principal are hilarious. I highly recommend eating some brie and watching this enjoyable film!
check it out.
I love this show it is really fun. I like the flashbacks and almost cartoon-like style it has. All the characters are really well developed and the actors work well to create a chemistry that seems really natural. I love the brother-like relationship between J.D. and Turk they work so well as a comic duo. I like that this show does not focus too much on the medical aspects and focus more on the relationships between the character it makes it a lot more believable. I like that most of the time it is hilarious, but there are some heartfelt serious moments peppered in that really work. I think this show can appeal to a wide audience, my whole family likes it. It is now on almost as much as friends so I suggest checking it out!
accents and accidents
What would you do if someone you were dating got wasted, took a dump in your bed, then accidentally splattered it all over you and your parents. Well Spud's girlfriend in the movie Trainspotting has to deal with these events. It plays out in a pretty hilarious way, but wow is it gross. I liked this movie a lot even though some of the parts made me cringe a lot. Especially the blue baby, I jumped when I first say that part; it was awful. I think it is kind of sad how they turn the one friend who is not on drugs into a junky by taking his sex tape, but then again who makes a sex tape in the first place?! The detox sequence is crazy; it made me never ever want to do drugs. I think this movie is definitely worth watching, but is certainly not for the faint at heart. P.S. I really love all the accents. Sean Connery isn't the only one with a sexy Scottish accent! I'm a sucker for anyone with an accent. Scottish ones are cute, they sort of sound like they are from space. A lot of times they are really hard to understand. I question whether they really know what each other are saying. Anyway watch the movie and see for yourself!
Reality Bites (1994)
Reality Bites, yeah that pretty much sums it up. For anyone who didn't fall right into a 70'000 dollar a year job, business majors, boo. This movie has a great sound track and every time I watch it. I just get reminded of how much it sucks and is awesome to be a twenty-something. I mean on the one hand you have a shitty job and sometimes the future looks bleak, but on the the other hand you can still get away with sex, drugs, and rock and roll with out to many questions asked! Ethan Hawk is a major fox and his character just makes him all that much cooler. Thank you Reality Bites for giving me a nice concise definition of irony, in your face Alanis! This movie gives those of us who haven't fully explored or reached our career potential hope, and it totally justifies living in a shitty apartment with like 8 of your closest and job bearing friends! If you are ever having a bad day and you just need a little reminder that you're not the only one with massive issues pop this movie in and enjoy the mixed up lives of people slightly, it was the 90's when movie stars still looked somewhat normal, more attractive then yourself. Good Flick!!!
Hard Candy (2005)
"Hard Candy" was an interesting look at the relationship between a pedophile and his victim. I liked watching the answer to the the question....what if the predator becomes the prey? Not to mention the acting was amazing, Ellen Page gave quite a thrilling performance. I think this movie is definitely worth watching; there is just the right amount of suspense. It seems as if there is a fascination with the nature of pedophiles right now, even "Dateline" has come out with a special called "To catch a predator." The movie questions the character of both the troubled lonely photographer and the intelligent charismatic young girl. "Hard Candy" is a new take on the game cat and mouse.
