Great Chefs of the World (1982)
Great Chefs, Great Cities
Great Chefs® is the oldest cooking/travel series on television and cable, and among the largest. The programs are seen around the world. Back in the early '80s Great Chefs® broke the mold for televised cooking programs, taking viewers out of the television studio and into the working restaurant kitchens of the world's greatest chefs. The Great Chefs themselves are selected through a system of nomination by other Great Chefs, assuring that they are among the best-of-the-best in the world. Great Chefs® now encompasses programs, DVDs, video, books, and this culinary web platform, connecting you to the world's Great Chefs and their recipes.
Jackie Gleeson on Acid?!
What in the world were all of these big name stars thinking when they were making this embarrassment? A bigger waste of talent I have never seen. It is worth watching only as a novelty. It was Grouchos last film appearance. And the scene with Jackie Gleeson supposedly "tripping" on Acid is curious. Why in the world did he agree to do this? It is also interesting to see Alcatraz as it was before the historic Native-American takeover and subsequent burning of many of the buildings. During the flight of the balloon, a great aerial shot of the islands buildings is shown. What a smart move by Faye Dunaway to refuse to be a part of this mess. Smart girl.
