Could've been AMAZING!
9 April 2021
I feel at odds leaving this review as it currently has 9/10 stars & I just didn't get that from this production.

I'm an avid Aussie TV/film supporter & will always back local projects first, because generally we produce some great TV. But this left me annoyed a lot of the time.

The story was FANTASTIC, but the timeline jumped all over the place & repeated itself CONSTANTLY. At times I just wanted it to get on with it. I really wanted to immerse myself in the story & the acting, which was stellar! But I found myself getting frustrated, which is a shame.

I think it was just trying to be a little too clever, & for me, it just didn't need to be, it had everything already.

No doubt people won't agree with me but just my two cents worth! Still worth the watch :)

Moving

Dunno what all these negative reviews are talking about, this series was brilliant. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick & watched this in one sitting. The last episode "Pomp & Circumstance" was a powerful watch. As the title would suggest its COVID from multiple perspectives, all relevant, all important & some devastating. This show has tapped into the 2020 zeitgeist & will be an important historic reminder for many years to come.

Unlikeable Lead Character
12 September 2020
I found the lead character totally unlikeable, obnoxious, egotistical & rude. Usually if the lead is this bad they'll throw SOMETHING into their personality or story to make you connect with them, but not here. I wasn't rooting for her in anyway whatsoever. The acting wasn't great either. At times it felt like they were reading to the screen, sometimes quite monotone, other times completely over acting. Poorly written & acted. Something to have on the screen while you're doing other things.

I feel bad for hating this so much
10 September 2020
I'm a HUGE Broad City & Ilana fan, but this...this was PAINFUL. Every two minutes I checked to see how much longer it had to go. I was hanging out for it to finish, it was that bad. I didn't laugh or smile once. Some of the content was just soooooo drawn out, particularly the Nazi fashion section. I'm a HUGE lefty so I though the content was gonna be right up my alley. I had a hard time connecting with it though. I'm all for left wing politics, but not when you have to tear others down to prove a point. Most of the time I was wondering why the audience was laughing? I wouldn't call this a comedy special, I watch a lot of comedy & this wasn't it. This was more like listening to her talk, incessantly for an hour, with no punch line. The sad thing is it's tarnished my opinion of Ilana, she's not as shiny as she once was for me & that's sad :(

Gave me the feels!

If you love Eurovision, then this is a must see. It's AMAZING! The music, the purity, the hilarity. Thanks Will & Rachel, you guys were FLAWLESS in these roles. This is just what I needed today. GENIUS!
