TV and movies for me are escapism. There is enough sadness and sorrow in the real world. Now, I love horror movies, which are frequently sad- but they are not really plausible. For example, I LOOOVE zombie movies, but I don't really think ppl will suffer because of zombies. So that sadness is okay, it won't really ever happen. Are you following me? The online onscreen sadness I can handle is if it is out of the realm of possiblity. I like sorrow to be very, very fictional. I don't do "based on reality movies." How is someone else's pain and suffering entertainment? Honestly, if the description uses the following words chances are I will NOT watch it :
These all spell TEAR-JERKER to me. I'm sure there are more taboo words, I'll add them later.
Horribly sad movies that I love and will occassionally watch, after taking a klonopin are " Beaches, Once Around". "Always," and the greatest movie ever made "Gone with the Wind"- my favorite movie of all time. But I still prefer the book. :) (I love the Holly Hunter- Richard Dreyfuss movies, but time has not been as kind to him as to her)
Now my FAVORITE MOVIES that I can watch OVER AND OVER:
Shaun of the Dead ( I love Simon And Nick) Hot Fuzz!
Dawn of the Dead
Night of the Living Dead
Return of the Living Dead 1-4
Silence of the Lambs
HANNIBAL (love me some Sir Anthony)
Armageddon (and yes, I squall like a baby)
Any Harry Potter Movie (I love Alan Rickmmmman)
Shaft 2000 (love me some Sanuel L. Jackson)
Lots more that I'll think of later.
Favorite TV shows of all time are Forever Knight, Buffy TVS, Angel, American Gothic, Roar, Red Dwarf, Charmed, Huff!, Jeremiah, and Dead Like Me.
Currently watch Weeds (it's my dirty little secret pleasure. It's shocking and totally inappropriate and I never miss it.lol I watch Bones on occassion. They are dragging the sexual tension on too long and it made me lose interest.
