Incomplete perspective
19 January 2013
Although this film deals with moral conflicts of heads of the Shin Bet it appears to lack the perspective of why we're in this situation in which these people have the power to take a man's life and cause collateral damage or not, no matter that the man in question is considered an enemy.

During the screening of this film my feeling was that this movie is bad for Israel's PR on one hand because it shows a very unpleasant reality to innocent Palestinians directly inflicted by Israel, but on the other hand it also shows that Israel is not this murderous entity some say it is. I think it'd be better if a bit more emphasis on why this conflict exists and why each side does what it does, though that might make it a bit more political.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not as simple as some people think and I think it's important for Israelis to watch this film as well as for people who claim Israel is immoral and simply wants to kill Palestinians.

The Grudge (2004)

Yes, I was very tired when I watched this. This movie couldn't keep me awake long enough. I kept falling asleep.

They could cut this movie short to about 20-30 minutes. All that happens there is more of the same. People just keep dying the same way throughout a large portion of the movie. The point of the movie was boring too. It was somewhat ridiculous, in a bad way (as opposed to "Scream" where it was somewhat funny).

It was weird. Things didn't make too much sense.

There weren't too many dialogs either. It didn't make me keep guessing who is the killer. I couldn't have any idea it was what it was, and it was not interesting either.

I don't like giving bad reviews. Usually, I don't.

Paradise Hotel (2003–2019)
Paradise Hotel (OR: Human Relations and Behavior Experiment)

Warning: Spoilers
--- Some Spoilers Included ---

This show rocks. I didn't see it from the beginning so it took me a while to understand all that room switching and how it means people are kicked out, but once I was on to it I was addicted.

At first all that was interesting was watching Charla. Seems like beautiful faces do have a part in creating a TV show, but that wasn't all.

Things were pretty fun in the beginning. It was a hotel and not a ruthless game (except for when the time came each week to vote someone off the hotel). Along came Keith, and for no clear reason the guests were divided into originals and newbies (+ Awesome Charla). At that point it wasn't as much him as it was the producers of the show who chose to keep him safe from elimination, thus forcing him to make some guests mad by sending someone home.

As far as I recall, this was the first actual twist of the series (and where it really began) followed by many more unexpected twists and turns (of paradise-- Amanda). At some points the guests had to make some though choices, which might seem ridiculous knowing back then that all there is to it is just some paradise-hotel-time. Sometimes it came to choosing between

backstabbing-friends-with-whom-you-have-an-alliance-whose-room-mate-is-your- girlfriend's-friend and people who never lied to you and who were nothing but honest with you.

Till all the twists began, it was quite ordinary and usually wasn't all that exciting because it took time to get attached to the characters in the show. The might have had to edit it to "cut to the chase" a bit faster, or maybe not. I'm still not sure.

Generally, I think the character selection was rather good, even though there were some characters who had not too much to offer (some of which made a long way in the series) including Alex and Kristin whereas others were just plain irritating (Toni) with inconsistent behavior for better and for worse ("Excuse me!" incident).

To sum things up, I give it a 10/10 (9 for Charla + 1 for twists and turns... or maybe some other calculation... I don't know. This is the toughest decision I ever had to make).

To sum it up even more- 10/10 and Charla rocks.
