Tim forehead robbins does a classic job as a hot shot banker who was wrongfully accused. in this crusade robbins and "Red" morg freeman become good buds and with william sadlers upraving comedic factor the movie simply goes down as one of the greatest philms of all time. frank darabonts finest film and bub gunton plays a great role as the warden.

This was a decent movie but still was highly overrated by everybody. The Plot was some what weak, and although i like Tom Hanks I believe he is overrated in Hollywood's eyes and thought that all of his movies get over hyped. I think the same thing With Green Mile which was a decent movie but still overrated and Forrest Gump, I personally thought Billy Bob Thorton made a better movie in Sling Blade. However Hanks did make good scores in Big and Apollo 13. I also think Spielberg is overrated. How can people say that this is better than Apocalpsye Now and Platoon the 2 greatest war movies of all time. The Thin Red Line was better than Saving Private Ryan by a hair they were both overrated. Platoon is the best war movie ever!

This movie was one of the year's best it was so underrated it's not even funny. This movie rates ahead of overrated saving private ryan because of the war scenes i think were better although saving private ryan's special effects were better.
