Disturbing movie
19 August 1999
Agustí Villaronga has made another disturbing film about the human nature. This one is nearer to classic horror films, and was Maria Barranco's opportunity to show that she could make more things than comedies. The film has two parts: in the first Villaronga brings us where he wants in his strange story, in the second there are beautiful landscapes (Aguirresarobe is still the best), but lack of fx: it seems that there was not too much money for that.

Failed, but interesting.

Great comedy

Very funny film about what happens to Carlos (Antonio Resines) when his wife decides to leave him and start a new life... and they can't because they always meet in the strangest places. Excellent acting, a lot of funny situations... but maybe to 'weird' for a comedy: there are a lot of drugs and 'rare' sexual behaviour in this film. So do not show this to your children.

(Like I did!)

Maybe it won an oscar...

... but the film is really boring, one of the worst Garci's films (the last one 'The Grandfather' was incredibly good). Garci's is always trying to make us feel depressed and sad, and the way he does is too obvious. I never knew why was it awarded.
