Brilliant!, 18 April 2004
10/10

Morgan Faust is the most brilliant filmmaker of our time. If you have not seen this film I suggest you see it right away. Ms. Faust has opened the door to an entirely new school of filmmaking. Her documentary is far and beyond the best thing I have seen in many many years. It is clear she has great influences and has followed their example. Be on the lookout for Ms. Faust over the next couple of years, because she will change the way that people view films forever.

The Worst Movie I've Ever Seen, 29 August 2003
1/10

I love Gene Hackman. I love Dan Aykroyd. Sometimes I even love Dom DeLouise. But I still think this is the worst movie I have ever seen. First of all it's offense to Schizophrenics, second of all it's offensive to people who like good movies. I saw this movie years ago, and it still stands in my mind as the worst movie I've ever seen. Soft-core porn has better acting/writing/directing. If it was an action movie, where was the action? If it was a comedy, where were the jokes? I can tell you that this film is certainly a tragedy.

The standard by which all documentaries should be judged, 2 October 2002

If you want to know what it is like to live be a jazz musician, it is important that you see this movie. As a jazz musician myself I have yet to see a film which captures the true essence of not just being Thelonious, but being a jazz musician in general. Thelonious Monk might just be the greatest jazz composer who ever lived, and this film is a tribute to his entire career. If you want to learn about a great musician, the life of being a jazz musician or even just how to make a good documentary, you must see this film.

Everyone involved in the movie should be ashamed, 2 September 2002
1/10

I went and saw this movie with reasonable expectations. I thought it would be entertaining, but with about as much substance as one of those books you buy at the airport. I wish it had been even that entertaining. First of all the plot of this movie is ridiculous. Clint Eastwood gets a heart transplant from a murdered Mexican woman, and then falls in love with her sister. The acting is horrible, with awful portrayals and stereotypes of Mexicans. The characters make a deliberate attempt to use the phrase "Blood Work" at every chance they get. Every time Clint Eastwood sees someone who could possibly be the villain he shoots at him, a point which seems almost comical at times. The acting in this movie is ranked somewhere between junior-high drama and soft-core porn. Even Angelica Huston is 2nd rate. The editing in this movie is quite poor, there is no flow between the shots, and it feels like there is no continuity. I have seen some pretty bad movies in my time, but I will have to wait a long time until I saw a movie as bad as Blood Work.

Not deserving of your $8, 4 July 2001

I personally couldn't believe people would ever make a movie like this, let alone have it be released in theaters. With so many famous comedians in the cast such as Chris Rock, Dave Attel, and Wanda Sykes, how could a movie turn out so badly? 99% of the movie was just plain unfunny and stupid. I sat there throughout the whole movie thinking "Could this movie get any worse?" And unbelievably, it would get worse! The only redeeming quality of this movie is that it's only 80 mins. If it were any longer I probably would've walked out. Do not go see this movie, unless your cousin is in it or something like that.

The Best in Years, 14 January 2001
10/10

This is the funniest movie in years. I am not talking about just Disney movies, in general, this movie is all out hilarious. Patrick Warburton steals every scene he's in as Kronk, the incompetent sidekick. This movie had me in stitches from the very opening all the way to the end. Unlike most comedies nowadays, this one is appropriate for the entire family. Disney has returned to their old form with this one. While it lacks the musical prowess of such Disney heavyweights like "Aladdin" and "The Lion King" the writing in it is top notch, and the actors do a splendid job at portraying these incredibly funny characters. This is one you can bring the kids to if you want, but it's just as enjoyable by yourself, or even on a date. Everyone will love this movie.

A terrific dark comedy that grabs you from the start!, 19 September 1999
10/10

William H. Macy is terrific in this Alfred Hitchcock-esque film. Macy stars as a film critic who accidentally kills one of his girlfriends. The characters that ensue are hilarious. James Cromwell gives a terrific performance as a blackmailing private detective. As always, Macy is incredibly funny and gives a phenomenal performance. See this movie whenever it is on t.v. and check your video stores because this is one you don't want to miss.

A brilliant film, 24 July 1999

This movie is terrific. It is different from the original. This not only focuses on the actual heist, but also on the relationship between Brosnan and Rene Russo. The story is gripping from the start. The movie is humorous, touching and overall brilliant. The sheer brilliance is the movie's best quality. Go see this movie, it will be worth it. I promise.
