Haunted (2002)
Seemed Long
Haunted is an okay show. It is not great, and it is not horrible. Watching the first episode it seemed to me like they only had a good enough idea for a half hour show, but then stretched it out for an hour long drama (I mean really how many times did he have to go back to Simon's apartment before finding the secret). One other thing that bugs me about this show, and the Sixth Sense as well, is how come the ghosts are always so vague? Why can't they just come out and say what is wrong. Why do they have to leave clues, and cryptic messages, like "Help us."
Sidesplitters: The Burt & Dick Story (2000)
Possibly the funniest half-hour committed to film.
Jim Norton and Lewis Black are two of my favorite Stand-up comics. So seeing them together in this film is great. I cannot recommend this movie enough. This film follows a comedy team like Abbot and Costello from their beginnings on the Vaudeville stage, through Hollywood, and finally to the old-folks home.
The scene with their play on words (reminiscent of "Who's on first") is worth the price of admission alone. This is a very funny movie, that if you are a fan of South Park type humor you owe it to yourself to see.
American Dummy (2002)
Very Funny
Otto and George are probably the dirtiest comedy team (even though there is really only one of them) around. However what separates them from other dirty comics is that they are also very funny. If you get a chance to see them live take it, although be warned the front few rows are fair game for ridicule.
As a film American Dummy is very funny, but if you like this movie you should track down the director's previous film: SIDESPLITTERS, it is even better. Sidesplitters stars Lewis Black (the Daily Show, and the owner of the club in American Dummy) and Jim Norton (the clubs Host in American Dummy) as a comedy team in vein of Abbot and Costello or the Marx Brothers. It follows their career together from the Vaudville stage to the retirement home. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Where American Dummy was an 8, Sidesplitters is a 10.
Ravenous (1999)
Horror with a bite
A horror movie that doesn't have a hot young cast. Very bloody, very fun. See this movie!
