Not too bad
takato052423 February 2021
If you've seen the reviews I leave, you know I'm pretty harsh and usually have nothing positive to say. I actually didn't mind this movie. From the beginning, as soon as I saw the video quality, I knew not to expect anything fancy. And with that mindset, I was able to just enjoy the film for what it was.

Yes it dragged on in places, and yes Christie made awful terrible decisions. But I was entertained. I wanted to see what grant was up to. I hated his character from the first words he spoke, and I wanted to make sure I was just in my dislike.

It's under the horror category for some reason, but it should just be under drama. There are maybe 2 scenes with anything remotely horror. All in all, it was an on movie.

If this film won 3 awards and 5 nominations, the competition must have been garbage as well!

Warning: Spoilers
How in the world does this win any award?? I had just finished watching Rare Blood and thought that one to be horrible until I started this one. Someone reviewed Rare Blood as the worse movie they have seen so obviously they have not seen this one. My jaw dropped from the beginning at how bad the picture quality was and how amateurish the acting seemed. At first, I likened it to watching community theater, but, amateur community plays. I have taken to FF movies that drag scenes in order to save time for more movie watching and I did a lot of FF with this movie. It was the only way I could bring myself to finish watching it, by shortening it with FF. I hesitantly watch movies rated 3 or less on Prime, because it could be really bad or pretty good and you wonder why it did not 4-5 stars/5? How does anyone think they can get away with cheap plastic snakes as a tool to scare? It was hilarious! Some scenes made no sense and they should have been edited or the script changed. How many living rooms with couch are in that house? Confusing! The "apparitions" were bad photoshopping. The mother's car keys were right there in the front lawn, easy to spot. Pretty lame fight with her SIL. Christie has terrible sense of direction and cannot read road maps or own one. Please!s If you FF smartly, you can watch it in less than 45 minutes and would be the only way it can be watched in its entirety, otherwise, watch until the fake snakes and end the watching while you are still laughing.

One of the worst movies....
markbohamed22 June 2020
I don't know the last time I saw a movie this bad. The writing was terrible, the acting was HORRIBLE and it looks like they used a iPhone to film the movie. Do not waste your time with this movie but if you don't listen to me I'm sure you will turn it off within the first 10 minutes.

I love local indie
bekah_mulf2 December 2021
It's about time that local indie film makers are getting the recognition that they deserve. It's unfair to judge Curse of Eve by Hollywood standards - movies where even small indie flicks have a million dollar budget. This film was obviously a passion project that was written, produced and directed by a strong female voice in the industry. If you look at ANY famous directors first efforts you will notice grainy photography and amateur acting.

While it may not be perfect, the gripping story and committed performances are worth attention.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're witnessing the birth of an industry powerhouse in this young filmmaker. And I for one am glad that this film got the award recognition that overlooked the imperfections and saw the potential.

A horror movie from a woman's point of view
jasminedeanneandrews5 September 2020
The horror is subtle, but it's an issue women have suffered with since EVE.

A well done independent film
orionburke17 January 2021
If you go into watching this movie expecting it to have special effects like Transformers and world-renowned superstar actors then you are going to be disappointed. However when you consider that this film was written, composed, and filmed by one person with no corporate funding, then it's easy to forgive some of the imperfections that wouldn't exist in Hollywood films. It is a well-written story that kept my attention all the way through. It was interesting to see this take on little known history of the area where the movie takes place.

Creative and contemporary film
hillterrell1 December 2021
I like how the Writer and producer Jasmine Andrews write from her point of view as a female. Things like this in film are realistic and it's definitely a message behind this film.

Cool movie
whiteranger6 December 2021
Cool movie, I did have some issue with the pacing but hey they made a movie, and it appears there is more down the road. Looking at the crew list it appears that it was mainly done by one person, so I give credit to that. I did get the story and if your not comparing this to a higher budget film, it not a bad story. I am sure the director have learn from the mistakes of this film and the future ones will be a lot better.
