S2: Very important topics handled very well

"It doesn't matter what you think, it only matters what the people in charge think" - Savannah's mom So much of what happens in S2 draws on this painful idea; it is the center of main character Savannah's birth and chosen family dynamics. S2 discusses both generational trauma + the lie that abuse and harm don't exist within "safe" spaces. Characters are well-written and complex in their motivations.

Who is easier to label as the "problem" in a social-justice oriented community when there is conflict? Obviously the new-to-the-space person who doesn't know all the social justice lingo, who doesn't have the amazing activist resume, who isn't as well-known and well-liked.

"We could really use your voice." Except when Savannah speaks, no one wants to listen. Who wouldn't end up screaming, smashing whatever's in reach, and carving the truth into the kitchen table with a knife for all to see?

The different sequences with "Queertopia" were all a really good example of showing not telling. I would have liked to see more of these kind of sequences throughout because to me they just added so much of her internal voice and perspective.

Wonderful visuals, writing, and acting that draws you into the character's world. You feel dropped into the middle of someone's life. So excited to see what comes from these creators in the future.
