Directed by Dana Vespoli with panache
What would ordinarily be a routine assignment of porn vignettes about transsexual prostitutes gains depth via the sensitive direction of Dana Vespoli, who takes her work seriously rather than just grinding out porn.
Three of the scenes are presented as almost case histories of beautiful chicks with dicks servicing randy customers, usually in some motel room, in which the life of a sex worker is neither glamorized or criticized. TS Foxxy is the superstar who stands out in these segments, but when we come to the finale starring Korra Del Rio, filmmaker Vespoli delivers a powerful one-acter.
After sex with a regular client Dante Colle, Korra slips up by indicating that instead of continuing their call girl/customer relationship, she hopes to become his girlfriend -perhaps even more. In this very well-acted scene Colle is quite convincing as he tries to let her down easy, but we in the audience can sense Korra's heartbreak and sense of rejection, seemingly doomed to a life of empty repetitions of sex for pay.
"What would I tell my family?" is Dante's reply to her suggestion, as he would never consider lying to them about his new girlfriend, and the movie ends with Korra's voice-over lament: "I never heard from him again".
