In the documentary "Before the dying of the light" (Ali Essafi, 2020) this film was taken as a reference to the emergence of Moroccan culture cut off by extremism. An example of a narrative whose line between fiction and documentary is blurred, it explores the filming process, the search for "truth in cinema." It is a magnificent reflection on the goal of making films, a vibrant vision of Casablanca in the seventies, a necessary commitment to the effervescence of intelligent culture.

Great work in restoring this documentary/movie.
Contains no interesting insight, as to the total emptiness of Moroccan cinema. (It is unfair to pin in on vox populi) 50 years after this was made, there's still no such thing as Moroccan cinema.
We're still stuck with Nabil Ayouch-style of France bootlicking movies, or half baked TV social drama.
