Fantastic & Original
mclivingston4 September 2019
Considering the size of the cast, this is a hugely dynamic and impressive production. Fantastic music and the performers are outstanding, though slightly off-pitch occasionally. This is my favorite of the Starkid productions and Robert Manion & Mariah Rose Faith are going to be a musical superstars one day soon.

It's a show stoppin number

It's got an original plot and a great cast. Robert manion and Mariah rose-faith are absolutely amazing additions to an already amazing cast. All of the songs are catchy but I must say that show stoppin number steals the show. The endings was unexpected and somehow fits the story completely. An essential if you are a musical lover.

Overall, one of the best Starkid musicals to date.

Warning: Spoilers
It's very good, and is a major improvement from the previous musical, 'Firebringer'. I only deducted one star because of the (SPOILER ALERT) randomly thrown in political commentary during Ted's death and apotheosis scene. This scene could've worked if the entire show was lampooning current American political culture, however I have no reason to believe that to be the case, because this is the only scene which does mention anything political. But apart from that, I had a lot of fun watching this show and it's definetely worth a watch.

The perfect musical, I cannot stress that enough.

Warning: Spoilers
This musical is actual perfection. The casting is BRILLIANT, and everyone is so great as their characters. The songs in the soundtrack are so catchy, just as they are with every other Starkid musical. It's hilarious, but also quite sad when it gets towards the end. With Bill's death, Paul getting infected at the end, and so much more, it balances comedy and tragedy perfectly. Mariah Rose Faith was a great addition to the Starkid family as well, and I'm glad they decided to include her. Overall, this musical is, as i've said already, absolutely perfect.

Silly, heartfelt, catchy, and "scary"
minutolo3 September 2021
It's not scary. It's mostly the atmosphere that is. In some scenes, there are fake guts and such... but that's mostly just yarn.

The songs are obviously catchy as most showtunes are and the humor is reminiscent of that of Family Guy or Airplane. Very meta in its humor and it doesn't hide it either.

Let It Out
ScourgeOfImdb14 February 2024
This was the third starkid musical I watched and unlike twisted before it, it didn't instantly hook me. As I'm normally a fan of starkid's parody, it surprised me that they could hold the standard with an original production.

To start with, the premise is brilliant, a zombie apocalypse but it makes them sing instead?! Just pure genius. It is enough to sell the show even to someone who doesn't like starkid. The story is riveting, with interesting characters and a chilling horror undertone(If you think about the implications).

Right from the opening number it hooks you in with extremely catchy numbers composed by Jeff Blim, who will remain one of my favourite members of starkid. It holds to the extremely high bar it sets for itself all the way to the end with 'Let it out' and 'Inevitable' being two of the best starkid songs. Also, not to forget Robert Manion's incredible performance in 'show stopping number'.

The cast are clearly having an amazing time riffing off eachother and having fun with the show. Jon Matteson wowed me by going through most of the musical without singing and then absolutely smashing it at the end of the show. Lauren Lopez does a fantastic job as usual and delivers every line with an insane amount of charisma. Joey Richter showcases his amazing talent in this show and shines in all of his roles. Jeff Blim is on point as always with all of his characters and Mariah Rose Faith also came in and established herself as a fine addition to the starkid team.

Overall, the guy who didn't like musicals is a fantastic show and definitely is important for any starkid fan or musical fan to see: 9.4/10.
