The summer is so short (2 months) that the people of Montréal enjoy this moment going to the beaches of the Saint-Laurent River for swimming: Hugo La Victoire, an amateur surfer has promoted the surfing on the Saint-Laurent river: there is a little wave (la vague agui) where the new surfers can begin their practice,but Hugo goes into the rapids of the river with his son.
Besides Geneviève Emond has bought an old ferry and transformed it into a spa space: the visitors can enjoy the jacuzzi on the roof of the boat and see the panorama of the city.
Many inhabitants of Montréal spend the first of July in house moving ( because the rental leases end this day) : Nicolas drives a bicycle with a trailer to move furniture to his new apartment and it's a great day for the pizza deliverymen because at the end the of moving the people enjoy a pizza).
The Quebec province is a forest region: Stéphane Denis organizes survival courses in the forest: Frédéric Tremblay, the survival coach goes with theee participants in the forest, they pick wild strawberries, then they learn to catch fishes (trouts) with their hands, they make a shelter, they learn to cook the trouts on a fire.
We visit the zoo and ecomuseum at Sainte Anne de Bellevue managed by David Rodrigue: there are many animals like Arctic foxes, otters (about 150.000 visitors each year): Patricia, the zookeeper has a very good relationship with the Arctic foxes.
I enjoyed the zoom about the "cantons de l'est" : we know about the lake monster of Memphrmagong lake: there are about 200 stories of people who have seen this monster lake: Yves Grandmaison of the "Société of Dracontologie" presents the reports of the people who have seen the lake monster .
Besides in the forest area Francois-Xavier Berger and his family have built original forest cabins where the guests can enjoy the magic of the forests and Caroline Sage organizes the spectacle " Foresta Lumina" ( 150.000 visitors each year): a moment in which the forests are speaking to the spectators.
Finally we visit "Le 281", a cabaret with male stripteasers founded in the eighties and managed now by Annie Delisle, the daughter of the founder.
I enjoyed the encounters of Raphaël with Catherine Planet the violinist ( the walk though the Vieux-Montreal and the music in the balconies), with Eric Gagnon, the old car rental agent, with Stéphane Denis at the Nanatha-Aki centre ( the walk in the forest), with Dominique Rankin , the Algonquin chief ( the story of the pensionnat and the boat tour), with Judith Colombo and the Santropol roulant asssociation ( the roof garden and the food delivery), and with Franka Tremblay (the tasting of bagels , the Aura spectacle in the basilica, the parade of the circus acrobats).
