The story starts off with a jewellery robbery in London where a policeman is killed.
The robbers are from Glasgow, two of them work in a carpet warehouse the other is a chef.
While getting back to Glasgow, the robber crash into a gypsy site and kill a gypsy fortune teller.
Taggart investigates the murder of the gypsy woman who was also robbed. Two detectives arrive from London as they find a link with the jewellery shop robbery.
This is an intricate story. A gypsy's curse. A fourth man involved with the robbers who also have no previous criminal records. A glamorous business woman also from London who has some dodgy connections.
It does lag a bit and the end reveal was rather confusing. It might be because someone was also trying to misdirect Taggart.
The most comic moment in this story. After Mrs Taggart is involved in a serious car accident, the doctor tells Taggart she might never walk again. Taggart asks for a proper doctor.
A young John Hannah and David O'Hara play two of the robbers.
