Night of The Stag.

A groom on his stag to is the latest victim of a prostitute who attacks her victims with a stun gun, only this time she's killed.

Mallorca Files has been my favourite new show of 2919, it has gotten better with every episodes, and To Kill a Stag is another excellent episode.

After a slightly tacky, alcohol fuel start it becomes an intriguing, glitzy story, with a great whosunnit plot. The pair continue to shine, you can see they enjoy working together.

Max in that evening suit, future James Bond or what.

It's such a great watch. 8/10

Good, but not great!

Warning: Spoilers
I was not a huge fan of "The Mallorca Files", when it first started, but fortunately the show got a lot better after the first two "not so good "episodes. "To Kill a Stag" is in my opinion a solid entry to series, but is nothing amazing.

Let's start with the good aspects first, shall we?

. The production values continue to be great in this show. The direction and the music are both pristine. The acting's solid too. The two leads are fantastic together and have chemistry.

. The story is mostly fun. Especially liked the scene, where Max dresses up like Bond to seduce a prostitute.

That being said...

. "To Kill a Stag" could have benefited from a lot more twists and turns. There were times, when the story was a bit too predictable (with Torsten being the killer) and straight-forward.

. Also, the humor does not work all the time and made me cringe occasionally. Especially the one regarding vomiting.

Overall, not great, but good.

7/10 HK.

To Kill a Stag

A lot of the episodes of The Mallorca Files have a setting in its capital Palma where the police station is based.

The elephant in the room is Magaluf. Also known by another more punning name.

Well a stag party in the backstreet bars of Mallorca leads to the death of the groom who is from Germany.

Miranda and Max investigate. They suspect a high end prostitute who has been luring clients and stealing from them. It seems the dead man might have been celebrating his last night with the prostitute and his bride to be is not happy with the news.

Max dresses up in a tuxedo and plays a big shot in a casino to entice the prostitute. I am sure it is just a coincidence that the show's theme tune has a slight riff of the Bond theme.

Another good, breezy episode with Miranda and Max in a race against time to save another victim.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm enjoying watching The Mallorca Files, and I discovered it only relatively recently, so I'm working my way through season one, and one of many things I like about The Mallorca Files is that its set in a sunny spot (not that there's anything wrong with the gray skies of Midsomer Murders) and so that's worth watching, and along with the pulsating nightlife. Here in this episode, To Kill a Stag, the episode opens with Mallorca nightlife, and I wonder what the logistics were of the filming of this, who played the extras, securing the streets for locations. Anyway, the ending was okay init right.
