Shane Dawson has unveiled his next project.
The YouTube filmmaker's last venture was the much-hyped, semi-controversial eight-part docuseries The Mind of Jake Paul, which has amassed over 152.6 million views in aggregate to date. Ever since it concluded in October, Dawson's channel — where he now counts nearly 20 million subscribers — has been noticeably absent of new content. Dawson told fans in December that he was planning another series with beauty guru Jeffree Star (the subject of his second documentary investigation), so many folks were expecting that to be his next big thing.
But the trailer he dropped this afternoon — which has already racked up more than half a million views in a little over an hour – is not for the Star collab. Instead, it’s for Conspiracy Series, an aptly-named deep dive into the world of conspiracy theories, a topic in which Dawson has long been interested.

After the wild success of his investigation into The Mind Of Jake Paul, YouTube revolutionary Shane Dawson has been noticeably absent on the platform since mid-October.
And while the 30-year-old has vaguely teased follow-up projects on Twitter, Dawson’s next series just came more sharply into focus. “In 2019, Shane Dawson and I are going to bring you a new series that’s never been done before,” beauty guru Jeffree Star tweeted last week. “Holy sh-t I’m excited.” Dawson -- who recently moved into a new house in Star’s neighborhood -- followed this up yesterday with a handful of photos in which he's attempting to apply eyeshadow using one of Star's palettes. “Sit down [beauty] gurus,” he teased. “I’m coming for you.”
While it is unclear whether the series will follow Dawson on his quest to become a beauty vlogger, this isn't the first collaboration between the two YouTube goliaths.

Shane Paul’s docu-voyage into The Mind Of Jake Paul was such a massively-viewed event and reputation booster for the polarizing star that it appears as though Paul is carrying the content torch onward.
This Sunday, Paul will drop his own docuseries called Uncut -- a weekly, long-form series that he says marks “a raw look into my day-to-day life...nothing hidden, truths told, unscripted content you’ve never seen before.” A trailer for the series (below) appears to show Paul’s reaction to his breakup with girlfriend Erika Costell reports murmurs of infidelity. “I’m not breaking up with her because I want to,” he says, “I’m breaking up with her because it’s what we both need.” Episodes will be roughly 30 minutes long, and Paul says that Uncut will also target an older audience than previous videos.
