Herman has launched some new drinks for the pub and sent Brian out to pick up a special barrel of his brew.
Brian gets the special barrel alright, inside it is a young woman named Lily who claims to have been kidnapped.
Brian is smittened by Lily and plans to go away with her to her faraway land. Barbara is suspicious of her story and then the fairies arrive to arrest Lily for being a violent criminal.
Lily holds everyone hostage ruining Steg's birthday. Brian has to negotiate everyone's safe release with the fairies who do not seem to care that much.
Barrel is the strongest episode of the series, all the cast blend well with each other especially Steg trying to get away from the pub. It was really well resolved with Howell rustling up his own special brew.
