Silent Service

Warning: Spoilers
We have done investigations in tough places before, even on boats specifically, but the premise does make for a more fun process to follow.

They didn't do a strong job establishing the suspects though, which led to a pretty average episode.

A fine one.

When it comes to "Silent Service" it has some good moments. I liked the idea of a murder case on a diving submarine and there were times, where it was intense. Also adored with what NCIS did with Ducky. Nice that he is not leaving the show. That being said, I thought the writers did not do a very good job of giving us a proper amount of suspects and the identity of the killer ( Justin Hardy did it) was very predictable to say the least.

Overall, a decent episode.

The overall plot is lifted from a recent novel, The Trident Deception
diego_point27 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There was no NCIS involvement, but duping the crew via blocking the ELF communication and supplying expected routine messages thereafter was used in an attempt to have a Trident sub lay waste to Iran. An evil Israeli politician was the root of the plot.

Of course one would need to review every submarine novel to know where the idea began.
