Finally a Bit of Sci Fi
Hitchcoc8 September 2020
While the human story is still dominant, at least the episode centers around a problem on the ship, the production of water. It involves a willingness to look at all possibilities . Misha is going blind or at least badly sight impaired. The ship has moved far enough away where distance creates problems in communications. Once again, it gets really preachy and rather precious.

Matt's message

Love the show, but it really bummed me out when Emma listened to Matt's message and it was not the same as what he had recorded in the car. Sloppy editing. Do better!

Well acted 9*, poor writers 1*

I confess to be a addicted to space stories. The acting in this is good, you like the characters you want to keep watching you get involved with them but the stories they're given are just plain bad and one disaster after another it's like was the ship built by fifth graders no insult the 5th graders. And all of these crises in the home life it's just too much. F minus to the writing and even lower to the suits who approved it.

Unforgivably bad science

Warning: Spoilers
Most of thre time, I can enjoy this show as an extremely cheesy soap opera with a spaceship in the middle of it. But the central plot device of this episode is so manifestly wrong that I just lost it. Without giving away everything in spoilers - water filtration systems aren't that complicated. People can't live on reduced water rations (for more than three days). And in a closed ecosystem, a garden of plants is not consuming water, it is just a different way of passing water into people's stomachs. Ironically, the one thing I thought was a nice touch was the closing scene that someone else hated enough to deduct one star because of it. I think scene is the only one worth a star.

Everything Is Going To Be Okay......

Warning: Spoilers
We open, getting some background story on Kwesi. How does one become a space botanist????

So the main water system breaks down... and they need to fix it by replacing it with the backup system. This creates a very critical situation on board the ship.

All the crew has to work together to do this repair.s

And it turns out, they can't repair the prime system. They have to use the backup system.

And they won't have enough water for Kwesi's garden on board the ship.

Back at home, Matt who has been informed of the problem, is working on it, puzzling out the schematics.

Okay what happened at the end here? Was Emma drunk?? Seeing rain falling on her in the midst of this problem?? That was pretty silly.

-1 Star for the Ending.

One of the weakest episodes yet, 4/10
