The first season I absolutely loved because Song-i and Do-hyeon were my otp and they had a lot of moments to fangirl over but as soon as I was done watching season 2 I was mad because Tae-o and Song-i ended up together it's just my opinion but it probably would've been more realistic and less cliché (I guess) if Do-hyeon stayed as a couple because Tae-o and Song-i have been friends for 20 years and personally I think Song-i and Do-Hyeon is the better couple and I was also kind of mad because everyone had their happy ending (basically) and Do-hyeon had to move away from the girl he loves the most and skip a semester of school and plus it just looked weird to me seeing Tae-o as Song-i's boyfriend but again this is just my opinion and overall this was a great show

Good Enough

My First First Love was a good drama. It started kind of slowly and a bit oddly too, but it picked up quickly.
I did like Ji Soo's character and he portrayed him very nicely, with boyish charms and boyfriend quality shots. Jung Jin Young was adorable as well and he is blooming into a great actor. However, the leading lady was a bit annoying. I found her character a bit messy, as she presented two personalities throughout the drama.
Another thing that i didn't like was the way they had ended the drama. The ending could have been a bit more smoothly, even if there is a second season coming soon.
The second couple, finally, was cute and promising. And they provived some solid funny moments overall.
So, seven out of ten.

I have to say this drama i had watched all in one night. It is pretty much one of the best dramas I have seen, great plot, characters you ll instantly love and a good pace of development. The only flaw is that I will have to wait for season 2 to see how it continues. Anyway thisis a must see!
PATIENCE (pardon my english, still learning)
brencoronel1 June 2019
Ok, so the first episodes are boring as hell and im that kind of person that HAS to finish every movie/serie even if is the worst of the worst, so i kept watching and at the end it was not that bad, it was kinda interesting and make me feel butterflies JAJAJA sorry, i look forward for season 2 !
you just have to be patient to get to the cool part!
Very underrated
belassyaa8 June 2019
This show is very underrated, it has some rich boy meets poor girl in it, but first time I'm unable to choose which one ends up with the female lead. Very heartwarming and light drama.
All actors are gorgeous, definitely recommend it to anyone who's tired of all the heavy loaded romantic comedies.
Jisoo finally got the girl!

Warning: Spoilers
In most kdramas that I saw jisoo is the second lead. Im glad he got the girl this time. I like old friends turned lovers theme so I really waited until the end to find out. I did not like the other elements and extra characters so my vote is entirely for Jisoo.
Please Season 2

Loved the first series and romance story, but thought the second series and especially how the romance ended didn't feel right or believable. Totally thought Song-I should have ended up with Do-hyeon who had a pretty miserable conclusion. Loved the characters and friendship though and as always brilliant, acting and sweet moments throughout.
Worst overdubbing ever.

Warning: Spoilers
I liked this show. While it was a bit slow it had a good storyline and some great eye candy. It was, however, greatly let down by hideous American-English overdubbing on Netflix. I don't mind subtitles because although i don't understand the words, you get the true emotions and tone of voice from the actors and an alright translation to read. The poor cute boyfriend who lost out had a voice so American and expressionless/calm that it ruined the whole thing for me. Everyone sounded boring, whiney and corny. If i had a choice of subtitles over dubbing, it would have got a 10. Please, stop it with the dubbing, it's not necessary.
Better than I expected

I don't know what I was expecting when I started this show. However I really like the concept and how it's comical but still focuses on each of their struggles. The slow burn romance I really liked. It's like best friends to lovers and I'm literally obsessed with that trope. Anyways would recommend i really enjoyed it.
The characters lack personality and the story is way too simple and predictable
hanalisss26 June 2020
Simplistic and cliché Korean drama that, while not groundbreaking, can still provide a comforting and easy-to-watch experience for viewers seeking a lighthearted romance.
The drama follows familiar tropes and plotlines, often adhering to predictable scenarios that are common in the genre. This lack of originality might disappoint those looking for a more innovative storyline.
Despite its lack of complexity, the drama does offer a certain level of charm. The characters' interactions and relationships, although formulaic, are still enjoyable to watch, especially for those who appreciate straightforward and uncomplicated romantic narratives.
While the plot might not challenge viewers or offer unexpected twists, My First First Love can be seen as a guilty pleasure that delivers what it promises: a simple and sweet romance with relatable moments of friendship and love.
Overall, it may not be groundbreaking or memorable in terms of plot, but it serves as a decent option for those looking for a light and breezy drama that doesn't require too much investment and offers moments of comfort and familiarity.

I would not change a thing

Warning: Spoilers
Tae-O (Ji Soo) is in his 20s when his father allows him to live alone in his childhood home. The condition is no friends can stay especially female. That all changes when varying circumstances bring three friends to his doorstep in need of a place to live. They all know Tae-O has a big heart and lots of spare rooms. Song-Yi (Jung Chae-Yeon) has been Tae-O's inseparable friend since childhood. Her pride keeps her from asking at first but when Tae-O finds out she has been homeless for says he will not take no for an answer. Ga-Rin is a Chaebol but has ran away to have a life of her choosing. Hoon (Kang Tae-Oh) is a struggling actor he runs away after one too many beatings from his father. Di-Hyun (Jin Young) is Tae-O's friend and the only one who does not live at the house but a chance meeting with Song-YI sparks a mutual romantic interest. When his friends ask to stay Tae-O puts up token resistance then caves like any 20 year old who figures what dad doesn't know... Thus begins a tangled web of friendship, life happenings, and love that was unexpected.
If you are looking for a mostly light hearted romantic comedy drama with surprising depth then this is a must watch. I loved Tae-O's character. He was the ideal friend and boyfriend. Song-yi was beautiful I do not think she had a bad camera angle or color that looked bad. To top it she was sweet to everyone and someone I could see as a friend. The other two roomies were boisterous and fun. Di-hyun was very serious and focused. At first I was all in for the relationship between Sing-yi and Di-Hyun they seemed like a great match. Tae-O started dating about the same time and I did not like his girlfriend for him at all. Cracks started to appear in both relationships and before I knew it I was rooting for a different outcome. It ended very well and I was happy that relationships that had severed were mended and the friendships stayed intact. I would not change a thing and highly recommend it.

Excellent Korean series

At the time of this review I've seen the second season. I can tell why those who wrote their reviews at the end of the first season were chomping the bit for the second.
This series starts off (in my opinion) a bit stumbly in the first episode. In truth I almost decided to not continue watching. Some of the characters were obnoxious, the lead character kinda goofy, and things were a bit of a mess. However that seemed a plot element to help the audience feel what the home owner was feeling: these oddball people suddenly invading his perfect life.
By the end of the second episode I was hooked, and remained so through the end of the series. Binge-watched it on Netflix in three days. This is everything a fan of this genre would expect it to be: humorous, heart-warming, tear-jerking, happy, sad, heart-breaking and wonderful all in one package.
I was pleased that (for the most part) the sound had good balance, and enough music variety to not drive the viewer crazy. Some rom-coms play the same song over and over and over until one is ready to strangle the director. This one mixes it up a bit. The English dub was pretty good, going for common-use meaning rather than direct line-for-line translation. This gave the series a very natural feel to native English-speakers.
I can't say I was totally comfortable with the casting, which is why I give this 9 stars rather than 10. I would swear that the same actor played two different parts in this; I don't know if that's common in Korean video or not. Casting aside... the directing was top-notch and the actors themselves did their best.
This is a top-notch romance story, even if a bit unsettling in parts. I really enjoyed the portrayal of the sibling-type relationship between the two lead characters; that was very well written, directed and acted... and really added to the theme. I would place this series on a "must watch" list of Asian rom-coms.

How can I write a review without a spoiler on this? I actually created an account just to show how frustrating this movie was on s2.
If you don't want to cringe, I suggest you go watch something else. You'll thank me later if you're a fan of romance like me.

The thing I liked about this drama is the fact that it's not as typical and cliche like other dramas where two best friends fall in love with others.it shows us the importance of friendship how they help and support each other and how they were friends till the last minute hope this fact wouldn't change.its a really nice change
Season 2 is a must

Remake of Because this is My First Time?
piarreyes23 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This plot and the dialogue has too much in parallel with the series Because this is My First Time where Ji Soo's role copies Minho's (of SHINee) role.
*spoiler alert* Rich kid has poor childhood friend stay at his house because she got kicked out from her old house. Best friend falls in love with rich kid's guy best friend who is also poor. Guy best friend's father rents store in rich kid's dad's building. Rich dad tries to raise rent so poor guy best friend volunteers to clean bldg for free so that rent won't increase. Rich kid falls in love with rich schoolmate and applies to become a member of the film/camera club to be close to her. Etc. Etc...
It's a really good storyline, and the actors are good in both series but I think Netflix should acknowledge this in their writeup and description of the series.

Predictable Storyline
jeffreyw-546236 June 2020
It was another K-Drama that could've ended in half the episodes. Could have spent more time developing the ending. Acting was a bit over the top even by most in this genre. Except for the comedic pair, I didn't buy the romantic chemistries. Story line was predictable.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

This is a classic drama. Obviously if yr a fan of dramas and love them this is gonna be good for you. It's one of the dramas I praise highly in 2019. It's realistic in the sense of how a lot of young adults and teenagers struggle with life at home. Regardless of the situation they struggle and have problems and everything might seem alright but it isn't. Whether they were rich poor or anything everyone has problems. I loved this drama and HIGHLY recommend it. For the people who want to chastise it because of the introduction in the first five minutes honestly. If u have something mean to say don't say it atl all. If it's not yr cup of tea then it isn't. This is a well done drama. If you watched this and enjoyed it you'll probably enjoy "romance is a book" the memoirs of alahambra with park shin hye. All on Netflix. ENJOY!!!
My only complaint is SEASON 2 PLEASE 😭
