- Hilda: I guess Trolberg is my home now.
- Wood Man: Well, obviously. For now anyway. And someday your home may be somewhere else. But that doesn't mean you leave your other homes behind. The wilderness will always be a part of who you are. That's why we're such good friends.
- Hilda: We are?
- Wood Man: Repeating myself makes me anxious. I'll stop by next time I'm in town. Make sure you do the same. Just... walk on in.
- Hilda: [the Wood Man has lost Hilda to a giant at elf poker] I can't believe it! He bet me, and right after I asked him for help.
- Wood Man: [from outside the giant's treasure room] Little help!
- Hilda: Wood Man! You came to rescue me.
- Wood Man: Sort of. I was hoping you'd help me reclaim some items I've lost.
- Hilda: Wait. You lost me to the giant *on purpose*?
- Wood Man: You think I'd go all in with three acorns? I should be the offended one.
- Hilda: Huh!
- Wood Man: Now, see if you can find the rope ladder I "lost" a few weeks ago.
- Hilda: [Hilda is waiting for the Wood Man to finish his card game with the Elves so he can escort her back to Trolberg] Not to be a bother, but when were you planning on heading back?
- Wood Man: Eager to leave the woods... city girl?
- Hilda: No, I'm not, uh... It's just Mum will be really worried about me.
- Wood Man: You'll have to wait until I'm back on top again.
- [the Wood Man loses another hand]
- Wood Man: It may be a while.
- [Hilda groans]
- Hilda: [Hilda and her friends are trapped inside a magical house which doesn't allow them to leave but can materialize any item they want] It doesn't matter if you give me books about trolls, new colored pencils, cucumber sandwiches or all my favorite things! You will never be my home!
- [the items appear but flicker]
- Hilda: Wait a minute. Everybody, request more things! It doesn't matter what, just do it as quickly as you can.
- Raven: Oh, I wouldn't wanna be greedy.
- Hilda: Just trust me.
- [Hilda, Alfur, Twig and the Raven all concentrate and make new objects appear; again, the items flicker]
- Hilda: It's working! The house is having trouble keeping up. Wood Man, we need your help!
- Wood Man: Just a moment. I'm trying to picture the perfect end table.
- [Hilda groans; the table appears]
- Wood Man: Hmm. The grain could be better.
- Hilda: Please, get with the spirit of the exercise!
- Wood Man: Fine, fine!
- Raven: [even more items materialize and flicker] Hilda, I'm having trouble thinking of more things to want!
- Alfur: Me too! Simplicity has always been one of my virtues. Ah!
- Hilda: Come on! Don't stop now. We've almost defeated it! Just ask for, I don't know... a diamond monocle!
- Wood Man: [the Wood Man turns to show that he is, in fact, wearing a diamond monocle] Already did.
- Wood Man: [as Hilda and the Wood Man escape from the giant, the Wood Man loses the items he took from the giant's stash] My belongings!... mostly.
