Oh, brother.

'The Drawing Box (2012)' is a short comedy film by David F. Sandberg. It's about a man who reminisces about his childhood with his twin brother, using a series of drawings he made as a kid to recall memories of meat-eating horses and ice-cream-producing yetis. His brother, perhaps correctly, thinks he's misremembering things. The short film is genuinely funny on occasion and generally charming overall. The brothers are played by Sandberg himself, who does a good job in both roles and is able to combine simple special effects with a mostly shot-reverse-shot structure to create the wonderfully believable illusion that there are, indeed, two of him in the same scene. The piece is enjoyable throughout and ends on a surprisingly effective final reveal which gives way to one of the flick's most successful jokes. It's an entertaining experience. 7/10.
