Deaf/Punk (1979) is a short, little hip film that shows the art punk band, The Offs, playing at San Fransisco's Deaf Club.
The Deaf Club was an actual deaf person social club for many years. It was also available for rent at the time, and The Offs manager took advantage of that.
Plenty of early art and punk bands played there. The club itself lasted about two years.
There was constant trouble between the city, for noise, alcohol related incidents, and zoning violations.
One can see a very young Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) in the film.
The Offs do one cool song - 624803, in the club, and another cool song - Zero Degrees, is played at the introduction.
