Dude what are you talking about. The customer supplied the both motors. Also the flywheel issue was not their fault.

Don't know what show you were watching. Did you have a few cocktails before and during the show?

There is not enough time to show every detail about customizing a car or building a race car. The show does a good job showing the overall process of building a car. You are way off base. It is a good show for the young viewers, but it is not a DO it yourself show. It is not presented as such. It shows a shop building customized cars and bikes, and the process of the build.

Renovation Realities with Cars, techs are dumb.
canadianmoose8015 February 2019
I watched one episode about them putting together a supposed 1000hp Mustang. They didn't know what the real HP would be and didn't know what parts are needed to do this car. Went from 500hp?? build to 1000hp??? And they had to change the rear all over again, then needed different axles and bigger wheels to deal with the power. Well that change wasn't needed with 1000hp. Then they couldn't figure out they needed a different flywheel with new configuration and starter. Didn't check specs, just put it in and hoped it would work. Then they couldn't get the car started, even though they used FiTech carb because they probably don't know EFI setups or how to program it. Then timing was an issue, wires weren't connected, putting wire harness through firewall and leaving fuses in engine compartment because they were lazy. Didn't know how to setup wheelie bars. Then inside the car, using those crappy door panels was ugly and lazy. I did this setup with a newer 94 Mustang with a T-56 Chevy transmission when i was 18. That was easy and i never had automotive schooling. The fact that this show is on TV is like watching Renovation Realities and the dumb mistakes they make. Who put these geniuses on TV? The crew is a lazy, make it up as you go, fake it till you make it, the shear confidence they have and think they are good at something. This is wrong, teaching kids the wrong path at life. Things that have definable answers, like science, should not be shown as a thing open to debate, like religion. Certain things have right and wrong answers, not the new, everyone plays and no one loses bs that is too prevalent today. Time to grow up and hurt feelings if they are teaching things that are wrong and not open to interpretation. Sorry but if I'm noticing this and these guys are being praised for bad work, like social media stars are for nothing, then someone had to say something. And this show should be edited to show that this place is dealing with realities of working on cars, and they are not the experts they pretend to be, that there garage doesn't do the best work available. It's a total gut punch to anyone that wants work done to there cars but won't do it after watching these morons butcher vehicles. Ps- I'm not a full time mechanic, so not biased by work. Just realize what they are doing to people in this line of work and killing any faith in mechanics to fix a car right. Feels like watching priest's doing open heart surgery, while being published in the New England Journal of Medicine for ground breaking work. Lol

Bad show for kids trying to learn technical mechanics or auto body repair.

Just found this show and a few things bother me.
daniel_liguori12 March 2021
1) they built a drag mustang and took it to the track but didn't run a quarter mile timer - so after investing 2 hours watching we have no idea if the car even did 12's, certainly not the 8's they claimed at the beginning.

1b) a wheelie bar, really? If it doesn't require a parachute to stop, I don't think it needs a wheelie bar. I think either the shop or the customer thought it made it look more legit but when a shop struggles to start a car, finally get it to run (poorly!) and immediately shut the hood and give the car to the customer at a desolate drag strip, I have to assume it was far from ready to even be driven let along run down a strip. I'd like to see a "where is it now" episode for that car since I have a feeling it's at a legit shop getting things fixed. I'd really like to know what real Motörhead's like the guys on hot rod tv would say about their motor work and their "tune" of that "1000hp engine". They'd at least have the decency to dyno it and then take it for some drag runs and show us the numbers it put up and if it sucked they'd tell us what went wrong since they have a true wealth of knowledge.

1c) they too the time to setup the rear 4 link properly with the first axle, but when they swapped it they didn't put it back on a frame table so I'm guessing if it ever does 1000hp it's a terrifying experience.

2) wife built a decorative sheetmetal flower in one episode - is that what car shows have to offer these days?

3) why do all car shows have to show lame pranks and fooling around, and the inevitable "this is how we unwind after working hard" BS? "Oh good, they're driving go carts to unwind"

4) if I watch one more car show install exhaust bypass valves I'm gonna puke. I've seen them installed on shows probably a dozen times - car show producers, NO BODY NEEDS TO SEE THIS! It's like showing a bolt-on cold air intake installed for 10 minutes... it's something any exhaust shop does daily, it doesn't merit screen time.

I could go on but it's not worth it as I've given them a few hours of my attention and I'm not impressed. There's worse shows on motortrend unfortunately, but there's not enough hours in the day to watch anything less than great tv when you have the downtime.
