I honestly wish there were more "Little Mermaid" inspired media that are involving gayness

I thought this 2 episode OVA was just adorable and pretty sad at the same time because Shima (Prince Eric inspired like) had a grandfather who died. When he first met Isaki (Ariel inspired like), I knew well these two were matched made in heaven. I mean regardless of Isaki being a merman and Shima being a human, these two were right for each other totally. I know I said this twice but for christ sakes, I loved this anime dammit!

The anime was beautiful, the romance was wonderful and of course everything about it was just so sweet <3

I could see what they were going for but failed to achieve. The plot is okay but there was just no real build to the characters. No reason to feel a connection to them or make us care about them. Normally it should have a beginning, middle and end but this did not. It was like the start of the beginning then straight to the end. Now I understand cutting things out from the manga to work with the time slot given but it just didn't. The art work was actually weird. I can get what they were trying to do with incorporating the manga's style but it just felt more like a fan made movie than an actual professional's. Honestly after watching it for a few minutes my eyes hurt.
