Banker's cards are killing small change .
ulicknormanowen6 May 2020
Two two-bit hoodlums confine car wash owner Wilfrid in his home while they empty his business's self service coin-operated machine .They have forgotten something :nowadays most people use a banker's card and the takings are far from what they were expecting.

Far from being cross, let alone calling the police , Wilfrid welcomes them and teaches them about gardening and about rose-tree growing .It's not a thriller ,but a fable which praises idleness, laziness and fun in the sun.

The running time is not 85 min ,but hardly one hour ,and it abruptly ends . As far as I'm concerned ,it's a blessing ,because whilst it didn't make me yawn my head off , I'm thoroughly impervious to its charm and would be comic ;that's why I refrain from rating it .

Great idea and even greater execution
This film feels so natural and deep. Has decent dialogue, acting, directing and script. Characters are realistically built and there is a great balance between drama and comedy. Also loved the electronic remix of Bach BWV: 596. I. ALLEGRO by Thomas Turine, which is heard partly during the movie and as a whole in the end titles.

Will definitely keep an eye on the director's other films.
