Watch Me Kill, Watch Me Nae Nae

Masterpiece film, I did not expect to love this one so much. Great shots and cinematography. This one does not look like a Filipino film (this needs more attention worldwide). This one is very different compared to other previous action movies starred by a female lead. Jean Garcia is such a great actress.

The good.

The movie has beautiful cinematography, amazing shoots of the Philippine country side. A style unlike any other movie ive seen come out of the Philippines.

The bad.

The movie has no plot or a very weak one at best. I then considered it to be a character driven movies, where you find characters you have deep connection with. Nope, the movie probably has 10 mins of character development. Leaving you not caring about any of the characters they introduce. Introducing characters that you feel indifferent about is probably the biggest downfall of this movie.

So many potholes, without giving away too much, I was thinking as a video gamer, why would I hire this worthless assassin, who in reality should of been caught 3 minutes into the movie. The writing on this movie was atrocious. No forethought on how most of these scenarios would be played out. Just senseless violence to awww the audience.

The big plot twist at the end, had me laughin in the empty theater, yelling I dont care. I think they tried to bank so much on the plot twist to wow the audience, that they never focused on building the characters to make the audience want to feel something for them.

Watch me kill seems influenced by the west. Nevertheless, it didn't fail to associate itself with the Filipino context.

Moments I took note was Lourdes was the real name of the child yet she was named aurora. The two names have different meanings. Lourdes is a name referring to the virgin Mary. While Aurora is of Latin origin which means "dawn". Consequently, ever since Luciana met Aurora the color yellow was subtly present in-frame. Additionally, it is noteworthy that prior to their meeting, the color red is more present in the film. Perhaps, this signifies a transition in the character of Jean Garcia.

Overall, the cinematography of this film is well-thought. Furthermore, she sees herself in Aurora which I think foreshadows that she's the little girl. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Although it may give all the reasons for its twist and may seem predictable, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Its a film about a femmes fatale, a hire for kill that gets the thrill, a psychopathic hate drives her, and the paranoia saves her till the day shes completely calm and ready for a new start, of which she can summarize to herself''i didnt take them all, darn!!!''

well thats the drill, and philipino filmaking havent pogressed to much after this one, and its a ridicolous large number of kills and half of them collateral, so you are well fed viewing this if your in for a kill. the style are very much charles bronson late 70's movies.mentallity and budget spent, and there are no great wonders as a technical product. the prima ballerina have a raised snout all the way through, and the rest of the cast didnt learn to act dead, all the dead breaths, and in one take the sun reflect at the arteria carotis, and the dead mans pulse are beating visually but he is dead.....

its not a homemade flick, neither a blockbuster for the european market, its a 5 from the grumpy old man

One of the best film to ever grace the Philippine Cinema

Excellent work of art and storytelling. It's certainly not for the fans of transformers robots or Bourne Identity (Let's throw in John Wick there as well). This is NOT a pure action film but as the filmmakers suggest, a psychological thriller. It's intelligently written and well paced. Shots reminds me a lot of Andrei Tarkovsky films And Terrence Malik. Here's a director who strive to do something unique rather than the usual third world drama From Philippines. This film has deeper meaning than what's shown on the surface, it's artfully done, and art is open to interpretation. A Cinematic masterpiece and triumph!!!
