An Enjoyable, Fun & Entertaining Romantic Drama Comedy
MichaelNontonMulu21 December 2018
To my personal opinion, this movie was wonderful in terms of combining the elements of drama and humor. I quite enjoyed the banter between the supporting characters (who were mostly comedians) and the chemistry between Milly and Mamet's characters which were performed very nicely by the two lead cast. And this time around, I think the drama and humor part were quite balanced, although I did feel the conclusion was a tinsy bit oversimplified, but overall it was indeed a fun & entertaining romantic drama comedy. Another great job by Ernest Prakasa!

Recommended Fresh Comedy Romantic Film
azzamaharani14 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Milly & Mamet's film story shows the genre of fresh romantic comedy whose storyline and comedy composition is presented to make the audience feel comfortable. There are no awkward comedies that make the audience frown to find out what they mean. The audience will be taken to laugh, stunned and laugh again to see the young family played by Sissy Priscillia as Milly and Dennis Adhiswara as Mamet. This cuteness was also built by several supporting actors consisting of several comedian. Not for their stand up stage which might only be understood by some people, but presented for a film. The chemistry between the main cast and the comdian became very sweet.

Not only presents jokes, Milly & Mamet is full of various meanings of life with packaging that is quite light and pleasant. From the family side, this film teaches that sometimes we need to pursue what we need, not what we want. Internal conflicts experienced by Milly and Mamet make them stronger to determine what is best for their life. Both of them agreed to try to do the desired thing. Even though they got what they wanted, conflicts continued to emerge. For example, the issue of gender inequality emerged when Milly, who was still working, was asked to go home at that time because Mamet found the child crying at home without his mother's care. Hardly, he scolded Milly who should be responsible for his child. As if there is a picture of the present reality that there is still the thought that women should be at home, responsible for taking care of the child. While on the other hand, Mamet faced conflict with his father-in-law because of the quandary between taking care of his in-laws factory or choosing his passion to become a chef.

The story in the film also discusses the money laundering practice described by investing in a restaurant is managed by Mamet's friend Alex and the place where Mamet is the chef at the restaurant. This certainly helps provide socialization regarding money laundering and also a means of education to the public to be aware of the practices and entrapment of money laundry. The conflicts that are quite intense go hand in hand with solid comedy, without losing the original character of Milly and Mamet who is hilarious. Director Ernest managed to balance drama, love and comedy smoothly. There are some comedies that feel crisp, but still reasonable. Broadly speaking, the treats given from this film feel reasonable and relevant. The placement of attitudes and emotions in each character feels the way it is. Although the storyline and characters are quite predictable, they can still be enjoyed. The presence of a number of supporting characters also enlivens and gives the color of the story. We can also see Yoshi Sudarso who plays comedy films and Julie Estelle who apparently has her own charms playing comedy films. The actions of Isyana Sarasvati, Dinda Kanya Dewi, Eva Celia, and Melly Goeslaw should be appreciated. The flexibility of acting accompanied by a musical background, director Ernest seemed to have never failed to fill the scene with music in accordance with the atmosphere, so the film deserves to be a list of spectacles to fill our leisure time.

Mediocre
miss_jb29 December 2018
Story is suffered from too much product placement and out of place humour. Useless character is present for the sake of humour relief and alot of is not fungtional to the story. Mediocre story at best.
