In Gabriel's Eyes
Rodrigo_Amaro18 March 2021
Looking into Peter Gabriel's eyes (and lyrics) there's beauty, poetry, love, mystery, plenty of aesthetics and some abstractionism. The romantic "In Your Eyes" is one of those powerful ballads that never ages and it gets better with every single hearing. I found about this music video very recenly (Blame it on the unforgettable moment from "Say Anything", John Cusack with the radio trying to charm Ione Skye), and I was pleased with everything that was presented though not in the same thrill I had while watching "Sledgehammer", also from the album "So".

The clip features several close-up shots of Gabriel, looking in several directions and some other images from old films to match the lyrics way. It's lovely and memorable but far from the amazement and glory of those magnificent crazed experiences made by Stephen R. Johnson (like "Sledgehammer", "Big Time" and "Steam"). It's not the same extravagance, it's more inclined towards a more cohesive and romantic idea. Very good job anyway, I was amazed. 9/10.

Artisinal

Gabriel decided to go full on artisanal for this music video which basically means it doesn't make ant sense. Random flashes of himself, grainy pictures, and some 50s housewife.
