This is a tremendously moving, very compelling story that contains so many rich themes and elements in it -- World War II, prisoners of war, the forbidden love between a captured Jewish American soldier and a German nurse, wars within the psychology establishment, and a yearning to know who we really are and how our deepest, most fundamental feelings are created even before our birth. I love the pace of this film, which really allows the true life characters to bloom and come to life before our eyes. Jill Demby Guest is a tremendously talented storyteller and filmmaker who has made something riveting and unforgettable with this story. This is timeless, thought provoking, profoundly touching and poignant. A must see.
