The footage of the young Reverend Wayne on a dating show is actual footage of a 25-year-old Jon Hamm on an episode of The Big Date (1996) from 1996. The producers digitally altered his name tag to read "Richard", but all of his dialogue is from the original show. In reality Hamm didn't win a date either.
This is the first episode in the series that doesn't include Kimmy's name in the title.
This entire episode is a mock documentary about DJ Fingablast. As revealed at the very end, it's the same documentary that Kimmy and Titus watch in the show.
During the old cam footage of DJ Slizzard (Rev. Wayne), a young DJ Fingablast goes up to DJ Slizzard in which he mistakes the young boy as a "chick" because how he sounds. Then states "You know that's why the hire adult women to play boys in cartoons?" In which the young DJ replies "Bart Simpsons a girl?". Which indeed Bart is voiced by female voice actor Nancy Cartwright.
