Great episode

Wow! Loved this episode! I credit the writers and showrunner for going this serious for a children's cartoon.

First off, I'm glad they resolved the cover subplot so quickly. Great turns by all the characters. Eclipsa remains as funny as ever. I won't spoil the big reveal, but man is it an emotional doozy.

As for the second part, it was nice to see Dennis and Ludo finally interact. The episode was creepy but strangely uplifting. I think it might be comforting to children with lousy parents.

Finally the trial!

Warning: Spoilers
"Butterfly Trap", well we finally get Eclipsa's trial that's been built up for such a long time! They use the Truth or Punishment cube seen in a previous episode, but now it's on Trial Mode. Eclipsa confesses to writing an evil chapter and marrying a monster. It's quickly revealed that she gave birth to Meteora but they didn't like the idea of a monster being ruler of Mewni, so they simply had some random peasant girl be queen instead. That means Star and Moon are not technically of royal blood! Eclipsa is declared innocent! ****

"Ludo, Where Art Thou?", this episode wasn't as good, but was still great. This features one of Ludo's brothers, Dennis looking for him in another dimension. He finds him, only to learn that Ludo has become deranged, thinking that piles of garbage are his parents. The episode ends with Dennis leaving and Ludo now thinking Star and Marco are piles of garbage too! Dennis is shaping up to be a great character. He really does care for his brother.
