Cheesy and intensely horrible acting! I watched this at a film festival and I was laughing and shaking my head for the gross inaptitude of this film. It was so amateurish! Somebody give the son an acting lesson please!

NOT THAT BAD

I watched this film at the same festival as the other reviewers and I can say that yes, some actors are not good enough, the delivery of english lines is kind of ackward, but I enjoyed the story. Yes there are horror cliches but the story is unusual and can be appreciated. Unfortunately the poor product placement can be too noticeable and the casting, mostly the kids and the wife was an unhappy choice.

The story is interesting, with a good twist. The acting is awful. The only decent actors are the one who plays the Italian Father and the other one who plays the expat who knows all about the house past. All the others? Amateurish ineptitude.... Poor directing by the way...
Cringe-worthy acting and dialogue

For some reason, they tagged this as an Italian film during the Cine Europa. I wanted to admire their attempt to make the movie entirely in English with some splattering of tagalog for effect, but the delivery of the lines were so pedestrian there was no attempt at all to at least use a standard English pronunciation. The dialogue was delivered in a pronounced tagalog accent and because of the struggle to deliver their lines in English the actors failed at a convincing acting. Why didn't they dub over the conversation after getting a good language coach? Mired with poor product placements and a mish-mash of horror clichés, it's a movie that will make you want to drink from the waters of Lethe.

It's indeed an horrific film mainly because of its horrible story and cheesy bad writing. The cringe-worthy script from an unknown novelist Mario Alaman is full of loopholes, senseless plots and cliches that will leave viewers cheated for sitting through the movie for one and half hours.
Some things just don't add up. So did the dead just booked a villa? How on earth did they do that--how did they pay? The product placements were quite obvious and off-putting. You will feel that some horror elements were added just to display the product like a scene that seemed to be straight out of Poltergeist. There is a scene where the daughter was talking to a ghost that was trapped and killed in a cabinet, later we find out that the ghost was actually the daughter that was previously suffocated when she and her brother hid inside the cabinet to elude the killers--so how can a ghost talk to her own ghost? Was the doll Jennifer controlling all the weird things happening in the house? Or those restless ghost acted by themselves because of the traumatic and bloody massacre that occurred in the villa? It was not clear-- and sadly this has been the case for the whole movie--to many confused plots and elements.
To take advantage of the popularity of the Anabelle franchise, a doll called Jennifer was thrown into the mix to add some horror elements but failed miserably. The doll plot did not help progress the main plot but instead became an obstacle to the story development.
The cheesy ending feels forced and you can smell the twist from a mile. To be fair, the Italian director did manage to put his stamp and provide some visual enhancement, sadly, it cannot salvage the poorly developed story by Mr. Alaman.
