The terrace apartment set used in the segments featuring Steve Rebello and Ed Margulies was designed and dressed to emulate a set out of a movie produced by Ross Hunter and directed by Douglas Sirk.
The original plan for the show included guest appearances by Sharon Stone, Angie Dickinson, Lypskinka, Diane Baker, Charles Pierce and many other "good sport" stars who would have dropped-in and played the roles of "neighbors" of the co-hosts.
For the show's August 14, 1993 debut, the episode called "Bad Girls," hosts Ed Margulies and Steve Rebello in "LanaVision" - a widescreen process using soft focus photography. The gimmick was meant to spoof the process called PanaVisions and the photography and lighting methods meant to flatter actors (especially aging ones). The style frequently used in pre-'70s movies starring Lana Turner (hence "LanaVision), Doris Day, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Suzanne Pleshette, Sandra Dee and many more. The term "LanaVision" was coined by Rebello, who wrote the intros and outros.
