Phantasmagoria of the Interior (2015)

This video essay from Adrian Martin and Cristina Alvarez Lopez uses the Vermer painting that is seen in Walterian Borowczyk's THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MISS OSBOURNE and uses it as a jumping off point to take a closer look at what connections it might have in the film. This video essay was very well-produced and it's certainly a well-made piece as it draws connections of the painting and how certain shots and images in the film were inspired by it. This film also offers up a rather unique look at various subjects that you can see in the film including how women are viewed and how the men are shot. There are some fascinating and well thought out ideas on display throughout the fifteen-minute running time. Fans of the film will certainly want to check this out.
