A Spookingly Good Episode

Warning: Spoilers
So, "Tricked." The first Halloween special for the Loud House (well I don't count "One Flu Over the Loud House" and "Price of Admission" as true Halloween episodes; they had creepy moments, but it wasn't creepy as in Halloween). In this episode, Lincoln and Clyde aim on acquiring full-sized candy bars, but when these two bullies are looking for candy, they inadvertently tell them that they could score some candy from their street. Meanwhile, Lucy is throwing a corn maze and as you could tell from her expression, she's really excited about it. But when the bullies from before end up ruining Halloween for everyone, it's up to Lincoln and Clyde to save it.

Like I've said before, one aspect of animated shows that I love are the Halloween episodes. I love them for a variety of reasons, usually ranging from the scare factor to how they seem to be separate from the rest of the show. "Ticked" was no exception: there are many things to love about this episode like Lucy's corn maze. What makes it great are the costumes the sisters are wearing: Lori is going as a vampiress (which I found strangely attractive); Luan's going as a mad scientist (with Mr. Coconuts as Frankenstein's monster); Leni is a headless madam; Luna's a skeleton, and Lucy's the Grim Reaper. No surprise there. The other costumes are also very creative as well. The twins devised a crafty scheme where they start of as Abraham Lincoln and the Statue of Liberty respectively, which spirals into two more costumes (their idea is that they could get 3x the candy from doing this), while Lisa's dressed up as a kangaroo with Lily going as the cutest joey you could ever see. In short, the costumes were very imaginative.

I also loved the animation of the episode as well, especially during the crazy maze scene with the two bullies. The animation is bright and flashy which helps to set the eerie tone of the episode. And of course, Luna's song is awesome in this episode. I especially love how the orchestra she's playing on lights up, glowing in the dark. It gives a particularly freaky tone to the episode. The jokes were also pretty spot-on in this episode my favorite one being when Rita thought that Lucy was going to cut her arm off with a chainsaw. I kind of wished that Lucy was at the same level that Luan gets around Halloween, but I digress. The only thing I didn't really like was Lynn Sr. acting like a scaredy cat. Sure, it's funny at first, but it gets old pretty fast. And then he just passes out from fright not adding anything else to the episode.

Despite that, it was a great Halloween episode that was worth the wait.

As good as any other Nickelodeon Halloween specials

Warning: Spoilers
When I heard that THE LOUD HOUSE was becoming very popular with audiences everywhere, I was relieved as many other others that Nickelodeon had finally gotten a show right. And thankfully, it's animated. For those that don't know NIckelodeon started off as a program on television made just for kids. They had a few cartoons to go with and eventually more and more came. Many of those cartoons have Halloween episodes or even specials of their own, and they're great. I think this episode fits among those as well. The episode is about Lincoln and his best friend Clyde spending Halloween in a fancy neighborhood trying to get full-size candy bars , while Lucy puts up a haunted maze at the Loud house, and the younger sisters try to get a lot of candy. Now I'll be honest, some of the points of this plot seemed a bit cliche for a Halloween special. The real only thing that they could do that was original in about the first half of the episode was stick with the haunted maze and work around Lucy's character. But of course, the episode has to have a moral at the end which I thought was sweet. (no pun intended). So at about the halfway point, Lincoln and Clyde return to Lincoln's neighborhood to find it messed up by two boys, the one's from the episode THE LOUDEST YARD. This prompts Lincoln and Clyde to save Halloween for the neighborhood. So after being turned into human pretzels, which is a actually a real thing in the Loud House-universe, Lincoln and Clyde decide to lure the boys into the haunted maze where the musical number of the episode is cued. The song is really good by the way. I'd say as good as the one from the Christmas episode. Any way, the boys are grossed out by everything they see and run off. Lincoln and Clyde then decide to give away their candy bars to all the neighborhood children. So like I said sweet ending. One thing I like to say about The Loud House is the balls they have for doing some of the things they do on the show. In this episode, I noticed a lot of blood, both fake and real, being shown. I do not know how they got permission to show that much. Plus they also talk about intestines and limbs and other stuff that may go over kids heads but still they pushed the rating on this one a little bit. As a Halloween special I think that It's great. There were a lot of funny moments, the musical number was fantastic and spooky, and it kept the Loud house feel with it throughout. I don't know if they are planning to do another Halloween themed special or episode, but if they don't I'm happy with this one.

Not one of my favourites

When I saw it for the first time everything they say is so cheesy and predictable it's not funny. The all time best Halloween episodes are spongebob's scaredy pants and the fairly odd parents Halloween specials. This episode is just awful if they make a Halloween sequel they need to make the sequel a lot funnier and a lot less predictable.
