A great show that has gone downhill.
nielsnable12 January 2018
Designated Survivor's first season was really promising and exciting. Although everything just seemed so familiar as if each episode was taken from either Homeland or House of Cards, each episode always surprised me (in a good way) and kept me on the edge of my seat. The second season, however, especially this episode, has just gone really awful in terms of writing. Character development has been really stagnant, and there are many unnecessary additional characters (e.g., Lyor Boone and Damian Rennett). Additionally, existing minor storylines are either uninteresting or illogical. A lot of things are happening and some of them just do not make sense at all.

Jack Bauer Can Solve Anything
Hitchcoc19 July 2019
This is about a clash with the sitting Turkish government and a revolutionary. They have the U.S.over a barrel because of a renewal of a NATO agreement. Demonstrators fill the campus where this guy teaches. One day the President's son an his girlfriend, Sibyl, are walking. A confrontation occurs, and yadda, yadda, yadda. All is taken care of. These episode are so clean and finished so nicely. Politics are not this simple; threats do not always work. This show really needs writers.

Warning: Spoilers
This is still not great television, but this was one of the better episodes of Season 2. They focused on a coup in Turkey something that was not covered with the respect it deserved when it happened awhile back. It is good for US viewers to learn about issues like this.

The show still lacks reality though. From Kal Penn's awkward interactions with the press, to the unclear political alignment of Kirkman, there are too many flaws for someone who loves politics like me to ignore.

That guy was supposed to be *Turkish*?
Debette-116 November 2017
Surely they could do better in finding someone who can do a better Turkish accent. That was sort of a middle-nowhere accent. Can't be that hard to do. We are enjoying the show, over all, although the lapses in verisimilitude was annoying - there have been too many occurrences of "they wouldn't do that! )if it was real)".

Warning: Spoilers
Just when I thought the show was faltering, this episode came along and it was by far the best one of the season so far.

Bonnie Bedelia seems bewildered but was her real relationship with Mr. Little.

Turkey threatened to throw the U.S. out of its bases and give them to the Russians instead. The Turkish leader rightfully came off as a real thug and the activist seeking his overthrow while staying in the U.S. came off as an urbane person, sensitive to the needs of others.

What made this episode extra good was the involvement of the family in it. Leo, the son, was really duped by that supposed nice new girlfriend of his, only to find out that she was brought in as a set up by that Turkish leader. I wonder if we've heard the last of that lawsuit going away?

The former president involved with the slain British parliamentary figure. That appeared pretty interesting. Secretary Moss, the former president, comes off like LBJ.

Warning: Spoilers
Well I have been watching the show from the beginning and enjoyed it sometimes..But The recent episode about the relationships with Turkey is total disaster.Despite the fact that real occurred coup attempt that caused more than 250 people's lives and that they killed civilians, soldiers, police etc.. So this is not something you can so underestimate and understate The scriptwriters are either really ignorant that they do not know that Turkey is a democratic country like US . I know my country is not ruled perfectly also like US.. So nobody is going to be shot at sight like it was absurdly mentioned by the President Kirkman..I know my country has really problems, I personally do not agree with many things going on in my country though, I can not stand with this screw up and ignorance First of all - the Reality: - US protects the leader of the coup attempt who still lives in Pennsilvania Second of all, - We fight against Terrorism in Turkey Like ISIS in Middle East and US fights against ISIS terrorists in Middle East - See what happened in Raqqa recently.. HOW US let ISIS Terrorists with their heavy guns and soldiers go out of the city with US collaboration.. When you blame a country please be better advised, acknowledged, learn and study a bit. Obviously Turkey is not a Iraq or Syria or Iran in the Middle East.. so what was that awful accent of that president?? The arrogance makes people look so ignorant

Warning: Spoilers
Religious opposition leader, which had name of Nuri Sahin in the episode in real life is a CIA Asset to spread Western funded Political Islam to East by infiltrating all important state assets by his movement called 'NUR'. It is like a secret society and it has been a long operation that CIA had in Turkey since late 80s. There are a lot of accurate researches that you can find on this Kontr-guerrilla designed operation in Turkey by recruiting an old Turkish intelligence officer and Preacher and turning him to an CIA operative by giving him asylum in Pensylvania.

Erdoğan was raised by CIA and Elites to cooperate with them in the region. But after some point he started acted autonomously after tasting power and yes they stole money from state, yes they gave good deals to their friends, yes they removed 'worthiness rule' from all public sectors and they started to put 'NUR' society's people to every position. It was a mutual relationship. Especially in education, health, counter-intelligence, justice and police departments are HEAVILY infiltrated by those who stole EXAM PAPERS by the help of AKP Officials and got recruited in those state institutes. When the alliance between Erdogan and Fethullah Gülen ended, Erdogan called this secret society and its members as terrorist and in fact they are because they broke so many international laws, including 'keeping crucial information secret' to let Terrorist Attacks happen to destabilize the country.

If Kirkman won't go after CIA'S shameful history AND its acts and Global Elite Cooperation/Resource Owners, otherwise would be disappointing :)

I honestly think that while PRODUCTION team was taking assistance for the screenplay of this episode, people who they got council was SO CLEARLY were members of 'NUR' order that they praised a CIA asset whose followers stole exam questions for years, recruited the most intelligent Turkish kids BY providing them free education AND brainwashed them to be a part of the CIA funded and designed NUR order. they opened many false cases with false evidences against people who know about their activities and secret/CIA agenda. and they've been neutralized. These innocent people who have been persecuted and spent time in jail for years just because setup cases are perpetrated by 'Fethullah Gülen' and his 'NUR' Organization followers. Innocency of neutralized people has been proved and these 'false cases' took their place in the pages of history with shame, lies, betray.

If you do not know about anything about a country's domestic history. You should not even mention it because this was such a shameful scene to watch while HONEST Tom was praising a REAL / PROVED CIA Asset..

I liked games played as a part of Turkish politics but that s literally all. Stop spreading false info please in your series. Or is it another state-propaganda show ? :)

Forgery of history and intentional corruption
enghassanelemam23 April 2020
This episode was the reason I stopped watching this series. glorification. I saw this president like Trump, and this made me lose my sympathy for him, as we all know who Trump is the crazy racist. This is pure propaganda for the United States. Brain wash the audience to improve the image. Everyone who monitors world politics knows what this farce is a farce .. This is a forgery of history and evidence of corruption in this series

Really?
mustitr-442717 August 2019
This episode was the reason why I've stop to watch. Glorification of the USA by completely distorted reality. This is pure propaganda for the USA. Brainwashing to the audience for an image improvement. Anyone who observes world politics knows what a farce this series is. The story in this episode has a lot of parallels with the Gülen organization which is protected and live in the USA. The people's of this organization was the leader of the failed military coup. the reality is that 249 people dies during the protection of the democracy in turkey.
