Awesome plot sequences and dialogs!
guisreis23 February 2021
Awesome innovative and strong film, with fantastic cinematography (numerous perfectly made plot sequences capturing the precise mood of that meeting) and dialogs (class, greed, appearances, sexism, cultural values, family issues... everything coherently put together in a high-quality script). Acting and direction are impressive, as it is difficult to coordinate so many actors, all of them with natural and credible performances, with that "live" camera following and crossing them: it follows a character, rapidly changes to another one, then enters someone's first-person perspective, and subsequently to a wide angle, and so forth. It is hard to believe that it is the very first movie by this director, who was a teenage soap opera actor. It is a harsh and honest portrait of a shallow and corrupt economic elite (highlighted by the contrast with the humble counter-cultural community life), technically filmed as a masterwork. Outside, angry people protest, while they just want to enjoy the feast and get free of those annoying "small people" and criminal investigations. Do not expect a boring pamphleteering film, the outcome is a successful thrilling movie that captures your attention throughout it. Do you a favour: just ignore nonsense bad ratings and critics and go watching this brilliant movie.
