Strange But Mildly Entertaining

Struggle for Israel (1976)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

This here is a nineteen-minute short from Lawrence David Folds who is probably best known for being the producer of MALIBUA HIGH. This here starts off in a rather boring way as we get some shots of the Western Wall in Jerusalem. There's nothing horrid about these opening minutes but at the same time there's nothing overly special either. The film then makes a much darker turn as we take a look at countless photos of the horrors of the Holocaust. From here we get some stranger animation. I'm not going to say I was blown away by this film but it was at least mildly entertaining or at least well-made. I'm not sure looking at Holocaust photos can be what we consider entertaining but the film did make an interesting twist halfway through and then we got another. This was a rather ambitious short that some will enjoy, although it did get off to a rather bland start.
